Im kind of at a crossroads, I love my monster but i find myself lusting after fully adjustable suspension and the street triple R in general. At this point the monster is paid of, so my choices are, swap out for adjustable forks and a better rear shock, or sell the monster and pick up a street triple R. Opinions....ready GO!:teeth

I think about getting a street triple R everyday. I want one bad but now is not the time for me, hopefully it is the time for you :ride

I have only sat on one at the dealer and I am in love

I say get one, and get some exhaust for it. They sound killer and I have heard that the bike handles amazing. Really light, agile, and has a pretty strong motor

really the only hang up I have is the headlight kind of bugs me...and I don't want to regret selling the monster

Motorcycles are an emotional decision. Monsters definitely evoke emotion but the 675 engine is a pure joy. Combined with the goodies you get on the R the STR is an awesome package. I thought seriously about getting one more than once (used to own an '06 Daytona 675 that I loooooooved).

Do it, live that dream :D

Also the headlight is an easy fix. I agree the stockers look weird. Get the LSL replacement.

If the money you loose is no biggy, I would go street Triple R. It is the undisputed ace of that segment, their 675 triple is one of the best motors I've ever ridden, the bike is super light, and the chassis is well sorted. They are made in thailand now tho :(

Mother fucking love my street triple. It's technically a non-R, but I've got k-tech cartridges and a Penske on her that, I think, out preform any R stock suspension.

Regardless, the Street Triple is the love of my life.

Used 1100 EVO. Still a Monster, a lot more power, fully adjustable suspension.

That was kind of my thought. Ive always wanted a triple and everyone raves about them but at the same time I bought the monster new as have become somewhat attached to it. m1100 forks would solve my adjustability issue....

I love Triples, I believe it's the best street engine available. The bottom line when it comes to bikes it's all about the FUN FACTOR! The Street Triple is a bike that can do lot's of things well if you don't plan on getting multiple bikes.

Triple

If you like twins, the triple isnt going to do it for you. If you just need adjustable suspension, go that route instead.

I'm not really stuck on twins or triples. Ive actually never ridden a triple. But I've never heard anyone have anything bad to say about the street triple or street triple R. It seems like the simple option would be to get a set of 1100 forks and keep the duc. The triple seems like the more logical option..but when i see the duc it makes the pants tight....

If you love, love your bike, and it's just missing adjustable suspension, go for the fork upgrade. I would also suggest having both ends re-valved by someone like Phil Douglas of Aftershocks, he can be found through San Jose BMW. It's a worthy upgrade and you'll be able to rock that bike like never before!

I would perfectly happy with either a L-twin or a triple for the rest of my riding life, choosing one would be the hard part. The deciding factor would be the rest of the bike, and the triumph will still have the advantage if you change the suspension.

Keep the monster. Add ohlins. Buy the triple. Then the only decision you have is which to ride that day.

Keep the monster, there are way too many triples being stolen this season. . . purchase when the fad goes away. =)

If you only don't like the headlights on the StripleR, you can replace those too :thumbup

Of course you'd be banned from the triumphrat forums forever by all the haters - just saying it's possible.
