Kirkwood already has 14 inches!

You're not getting my point.

Do you now, drive through Kirkwood parking lot nowadays, and wish all these people stay in Heavenly or Sierra?

There was a time when Kirkwood was the shit, before boarding was mainstream.

Still my number 1 choice in Tahoe.

What part of Tahoe isn't like that anymore? I can only think of a handful of resorts where there aren't hippie revivals, wangtsa wannabes or, elitist skiiers.

Alpine Meadows ftmw.

Well, boarding is mainstream now, to a point it's gaRy.

Have you seen these new school skiers now, the past few years?

They're killing it in the parks.

Shit, I might throw on the 2 planks again.

Can't board myself, can barely hang with my boarding kids except on the groomers. Skiing will be cool again, you're right.

Kirkwood? Avalanche-prone rock garden with endless lift lines and nary a decent latte on the whole hill. Stay Away!!

so's I'll have the place to meself

You're absolutely right.

But Alpine Meadows? there is no hippie revival there, cause it never left.

Love the terrain, I go there to avoid the zoo at Squaw, but they were the last holdouts to boarders. There are still a lot of skiers there who hate riders there.

You know what I'm talking about, get on a lift with a skier and they act like you're not even there. I would say "Hey, how's it going?" And they give you the silent treatment. During times like that, I just rip a fat one.

Also, when I think of avy prone resorts in Tahoe, first resort to come to mind is Alpine Meadows. Which is why they have one of the best ski patrol in the nation.

Endless liftlines? Ummm, not as bad as Squaw, Heavenly, or Northstar.

On a serious note, how will the economy affect your riding/skiing? It will take a toll on me this season.

this will hopefully be my first year back to snowboarding after a long absence due to various medical problems. Ive always liked boreal and had a pass there for almost 5 years running when i was into boarding 3 to 4 times a week. you guys can keep all your long groomed runs and ill stick to the parks where it's more fun:thumbup

as much as I like Northstar they have the biggest contingent of snobby douchebag riders.

I always snag me one of these: http://www.skilaketahoe.com/skiresorts/lifttickets.php but they're sold out already. Last season I rode about 12 days, but I don't think I'll be hitting up the Sierra Cement as much when they're gonna be raising prices like they always do.

Sugerbowl became my favorite day trip after they revamped the place. Its close, cheap and the skiing is nice:)

Eh... Kirkwood season passes are fairly inexpensive and since we'll be splitting our lodging with a bunch of girls, it won't affect us at all.

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaahhh. Time to get my board tuned!

Sorry Bro, my feelings are quite the opposite.

There will always be a special place in my heart for Sugar Bow,l but I don't like all the revamping.

I like the rustic feel of the old. Back then (pre-Judah), it was a place not too many people went to, and lay out some siiiick lines. Cheap, close, an awesome place for day-trips.

Until, they replaced the first ski lift in California, the Disney chair. Disney chair was a double, old, rusty, and slow. It kept that side from getting tracked out too soon. Especially when you got off, unstrap or unclick and hike up that little hill.

Now there is a high speed quad dropping you off right on the top, and they built a hut there. And when I first checked it out, there was a crowd of people up there, and i'm thinking, "Noooooooooooooo"

How sacrilegious.

As for Northstar, I don't frequent the place much, it's a family-oriented resort, but there is a noticeable difference in the amount of hot women there.

As for Kirkwood, i'm talking about total cost, gas, food, etc.

It got ruined because of Snowbomb. Good for Kirkwood, not good for me. Sorry for being selfish, but on a powder day, fuck'em.

This is the first season I won't be having a season pass there. Kirkwood ain't that big.

Yeah, kirkwood passes are cheap because kirkwood blows, its hella flat and the get barely any snow, not to mention its so small you can hit every trail in half a day

pm me info about your lodging =P

Dude, do yourself a favor, ride somewhere else that is not Boreal.

Expand your consciousness. :twofinger

I want to try out Bear Valley, Homewood and Bager Pass this year.

Bear Valley is a fun little mountain, watch that long traverse, never did Homewood, Badger for the wooden skis crowd, no?
