AMA #3302017
Hi all, I’m readying a 2017 RC390 as a new racer. I have a few questions for those familiar with this bike (and some general Q’s that anyone could answer)

1. I got the shorter Tyga “cup style” belly pan. Will this pass tech? It doesn’t have a dam in the back, just a deep front area.

2. Do people put a bolt in the empty holes just above the rear axle nuts for a safety wire anchor?

3. For the front axle, is wiring the pinch bolts sufficient?

4. My radiator hoses have the oem pinch-style clips, not screw-type hose clamps. Do I need to replace them?

5. Do the brake banjo bolts need wire?

Any other tips?

I’ve got all the oil plugs and filter cover drilled and wired, easy enough. Still have to do a catch bottle.

I don't know the answer to rest so I am replying just for two parts:

3. For the front axle, is wiring the pinch bolts sufficient?

5. Do the brake banjo bolts need wire?

Still have to do a catch bottle.

3: I use a Woodcraft axle slider that acts as another safety instead. Technically the axle should be otherwise wired but I am not sure if it's even possible on all bikes.

5. Use a little blob of RTV sealant instead.

You do not need a catch bottle if you route all hoses to the belly pan (although I don't know if yours passes tech or not).

Thanks Jack, will use RTV on the brake banjos. I do have the KTM sliders on my front axle, so it would be difficult/impossible to wire the axle itself as is.

This is the belly pan I have (not my bike):
