I was never a fan of him or his brother. However, I do feel bad for his family and the entire NASCAR family.

This is a bit shocking. The 41 year is fine on May 17th and passes 4 days later. :rip Kyle

I am sure his family and close friends are reeling. :rose

RIP

So crazy to go down that fast. He made it to the hospital, isn’t old, didnt seem to have any longstanding health issues, and still passed. As someone who is turning 41 this year, 😳

RIP

Agree with OP, I was never a fan but he was one of the Big Names in the sport for sure. I'm sure they'll have quite the display for him this weekend.

Quite a career. :rip

It seems like both he and his brother were polarizing personalities. Kurt came into the simulator business I used to frequent, where he ran a few short races, and that created quite the buzz.

I wonder if he got a blood clot that ended up as a pulmonary embolism. It happened to me last year from driving too much

I mean, I didn't scan anything in the article that said it was natural causes? I am assuming this guy is part of the beer family?

Doesn't seem to be an official statement yet. Sinus issues at The Glenn two weeks ago; theories are for sepsis or bacterial infection. He did look especially puffy in the last two interviews over the last two weeks. I wasn't a KB fan, but became one after his comeback from his accident breaking both his legs/ almost killing himself several years ago. I like that KB didn't pull punches and kept things spicy. Shame he's gone....he helped lots of racers get their starts. Another actual good guy who played a bad one....NASCAR is the WWF of the racing world.

Agree with MD agreeing with OP.
Dude was a tool....but we all need someone to root against.
It's the 'Merican way.

I doubt your typical NASCAR fan will care.
That's a tough crowd....with their mustard and motor oil stained wife beater tank-tops, the pungent BO with renegade armpit hair and rebel flag chest tattoos....
And their husbands aren't any better....

There was a nasty cold going around last month. Took me a month to get over it as well as several other people I know who had it.

@gixxerjeff

No punches held on the typical NASCAR fan.

Certainly puts me in the non-typical category.

Well, someone would have to actually go to the races to know.....
I have seen all of one in person, but being a motorhead I pretty much like all racing and if someone gave me a 700 HP car to go left... go left I would!!

The NASCAR crowd (Sears Point) was very different than the Indy Car crowd.
Sort of T Shirts vs Polo's, but I missed the chest tats part.

My daughter has worked at that track since she was 15.....she's 34 now.
The truth is, I'm not a NASCAR guy but I get ticket requests every year....and each year I somewhat reluctantly attend with my "beggar" friends.
AND....I confess I find myself having a good time. NASCAR is a fucken machine. Everything works. They bring in they're own big screens and sound system.
It's a fucken circus, but they really do know what they're doing.

I was at the Sears Point NASCAR race in 1992, and got to watch this win ... it was awesome:

"Ernie Irvan's most famous victory at Sears Point (now Sonoma Raceway) was the 1992 Save Mart 300K. Driving the No. 4 Morgan-McClure Motorsports Chevrolet, he mounted one of the most legendary comebacks in NASCAR history to win the race, after being black flagged and sent to the back of the pack for passing the pole-sitter at the start of the race. Mr Irvan passed 41 cars to take the lead with 8 laps of the 74 lap race, and go on to victory."

me and my pals attended NASCAR races at Pocono, Dover, Charlotte, and NHIS back when they raced racecars that still looked like cars you could go out and buy from the various manufacturers involved. it wuz glorious. :laughing

Godspeed to Mr Kyle Busch, and condolences to his family and friends. :(

I remember that day too.
I'm not sure he coulda pulled that off if they weren't still using the NASCAR modified track that bypassed the carousel.
Remember "The Chute"??
That was back when they were still afraid of right hand turns like T-4.
