Currently have a nice leather jacket, looking for some pants.

Been seeing a lot of riders with Klim textile pants recently. Would these look tremendously goofy paired with a leather jacket? :wow

Also... tan/grey/black to go with a black jacket?

Wouldn’t look too bad if you accessorize with matching scarf and maybe a pair of two tone leather brogues

I commuted for years in a leather jacket and textile overpamts but both were basic black.

You can get sorta the best of both worlds with the Rev'it Ignition pants. Leather in the right places, mesh in the right places. Little pricey, but they are durable.

I recently got the Roland Sands “Fuck Luck” pants, they’re part leather and part textile, and pair well with my Dainese “Bryan” jacket (they don’t zip together though).

It’s nice to FINALLY have a pair of armored riding pants that have actual pockets.

But to address the OP’s question: I wouldn’t hesitate to pair a leather jacket with textile pants or vice versa. I did the latter during a recent extremely hot ride thru the Central Valley - mesh jacket + the aforementioned pants.

Those look interesting. :thumbup

After riding almost my entire 20 years on bikes in full leathers, I recently changed to the Rev'it armored "Pursuit" jeans from Husqvarna. They come stock with "seesoft" armor which I promptly swapped out for "LP2" D3O knee & hip armor.

I've been commuting 30 miles r/t in them for about a month and feel just about as secure as I did in my armored leather pants. (Wearing an A* leather jacket on top.) They're Kevlar lined and have reflective bits on the cuff's inseam. Not as abrasion resistant as leather, but should keep the road-rash at bay in the event of a get-off.

Just ordered the Klim Switchback pants.
I'll have to see how the LP1 armor feels... might want to go with the LP2. :ride

My Klim mesh pants are a weird cut, made for someone without nutz. I hate them. Make sure they are returnable if you order without trying on.

Much prefer my ARC Battleborn pants.

I ha 1 piece track suit, 2 piece leathers, Klim ADV 2 piece and a pair of armored jeans. I like all of them and often run "commute" type trips with the A$ leather jacket and the armored jeans.

One potential downside of both the ADV pants and the armored jeans is that there is a high probability that the knee armor will get pushed off the knee in a fall. The armor is there, but its just not held in place like its is with the 1 or 2 piece leathers.

I thought riding gear was to protect the body, not to win a beauty competition, but I may be wrong. Although I saw a guy riding around the block in shorts, to each their own.

Hard to beat the protection of Resurgent Jeans if you want a normal looking jean or Chino. L2 protection, look good and pockets. I'm not aware of any textile that comes close to the protection.

Bought the Klim Switchback pants.

They fit perfectly, but thinking about switching out the L1 armor for L2... it really doesn't feel like it would do much during a pavement hit.
