82 GS450 fore n after

Good Evening,

My second post or comment on barf. First was yesterday. Thanks for having me.

Before: First picture taken of my 1982 Suzuki GS450 on a pier in Chula Vista. Bike was about six weeks old in picture. 1200 dollars in El Cajon, CA. Was still in a crate unassembled. Picked it as it was the only black one available. All others were maroon in color. Paid cash with money I received as a A school graduation while in the Navy.

After: Pic taken about a year ago. Found factory correct fairing for it finally on ebay. She now has about 45,000 miles on her. 33 years old. I thinking about keeping it I guess.

Don't know how I missed this thread. I have a bunch, but this is my favorite before and after.

Please pardon the image size and quality. Thanks.
1975 Yamaha RD350. I bought it as a stripped (and cobby) track bike.
Some nice hardware. I added body filler, paint, handmade wiring harness
and some sweet (if I may say so) fabricated parts : coil mounts (Al),
license mount (Al) and battery support (Al & Delrin). Matching helmet
paint. Huge dent in an expansion chamber removed by filling with water
& leaving in a horizontal storage freezer. Street legal when finished.

Sano. Those brakes look like they could detach your retinas.

:laughing - thats for sure! when i talked to people about this bike build, i often was asked if running a dual-rotor radial brake system was overkill for such a small bike. (i estimate this bike to be in the very low 300lbs) i said i really didn't know. but i would find out.

now after riding the bike around for several months, its surprisingly compliant. there's very little effort needed on the lever to stop the bike, but its not abrupt or excessive. the progression is pretty linear and predictable.

its quite the upgrade over the stock front drum, without a question...

Just updated the bike with an 18" back rim imported from Denmark.
18x2.15" Reverse Comstars never made it to the U.S. market.
Personally, I think that 18" rears look better on the older bikes, but I also prefer the Black powder coat aluminum Reverse Comstars to their earlier model steel counterparts.

CB750f tracker

I can't find the first pic I have of this one. It was a bone stock 76 CB750f survivor with a super fat ass cruiser seat on it. The first pic with my homey's son Benito shows my 1st stab at a kind of brat style mild mod and cleanup. 2nd pic is where it is now, almost done (need paint, lights, minor details...) after 2 years of work. I've literally refurbished or modified every single part of the bike at this point. Only work I farmed out was the machining for the crank, cylinders and head. Everything else I did myself including all fabrication work. Lightened and balanced crank, 836 wiseco's, webcam, kibblewhites, cyclex beehive springs (read- moneypit :teeth). I've done a bunch of repair, restoration and mods on vintage stuff over the past few years but this one is like my senior thesis.
