Dude... definitely regretting not being able to go to Valencia now. I'm totally speechless. I thought I was a big GP fan... you take the cake, man.

Dude, you should've tried flying to Madrid or Barcelona and driven down. It was well worth it. I know I haven't put up many pictures of the racers (like I did after Laguna) or the semi trucks, but I did have a chance to speak with almost every rider (again!) and this time it was a lot more casual. No busting out of the camera for every little thing at the track. Rossi recognized me and slowed his scooter to say hi which I thought was really nice. As he was stopping a huge crowd of people started running up to us so I waved him off and away he zoomed! Did you know he likes to ride his scooter on the racetrack to get a feel for it? Specifically the new tracks. He was riding the ShangHai track and when he came back to the pits he said that he almost ran out of track in turn 1!! How cool is that? And what does that say about the ShangHai track . . . . .

Hiro wants to win in 250cc first before moving to MotoGP. He´ll be on the KTM squad and his younger brother is moving here to take his place on the Movistar team. Since Movistar is moving out Repsol will be taking over that team and fielding Porto and Aoyama2. I watched younger brother ride in my minimoto exibit and he has impeccable bike control, sliding in and wheelying out of every corner.

Of course I gots Paypal. Look for Liam Shubert, and that should work for me. At least I can have a beer on you! You'd be amazed at the pace of this place. Bars are empty until 12.30 and really don't start until 2. Then, when the bar closes around 4 or 6 there are people waiting outside handing out passes for the after parties. It's important to get these tickets because it can cost upwards of 18 Euros to get into some of these things. Still, the parties are mostly going on between Thursday and Saturday night. I've heard of some die-hards going out and raging on Wednesdays but I haven't run across them yet. I've only been in BCN on one Wednesday and that was a quiet night because I left for Valencia the next morning.

Me too, this has been a great thread and if it's costing you food money to get wi-fi access to post pics and keep it updated, I'd be happy to send you $20 to help keep you going. We don't want to see you having to dumpster dive and ruin the reputation of all of us BARFers!

I'm sure there are many others too that could send $5+/- to help out... we just need an e-mail to send some funds. Keep it up!

PS. I didn't find a way to search PayPal by name, so I guess we'll need the e-mail address you use for your PayPal account. If that is your primary acct and you don't want to post it, I think you can go into PayPal and set up other associated addresses for the account, maybe a hotmail acct?

Here's a perfect example of Old World coolness and not so coolness. These are two of my house keys, one for the small lock, one for the deadbolt. The deadbolt is the two sided key and for something that looks so simple, it is suprisingly hard to pick, even with my Dyno Quick Pick. When I first arrived, the key I received was damaged, looking like it had gotten smashed under a car or something. No problem, I thought, and I proceeded to hammer it back into shape. A little bit of filing with a heavy duty nail file and I thought I was good to go. The key would turn the lock and the deadbolt would come out of the door, but it wouldn't go back in. The locks here work in "steps", meaning you turn the key one full turn and the bolt comes out one step. Two turns, two steps. All the way to four steps. Anyhow, my barbaric methods weren't working, so I tracked down a little Cerrajero (locksmith) and had him work on the key. One Euro later I was hustling back to the apt. only to find it didn't work. Back to the locksmith for another try (this one was free) and the "master" went to work, cutting, grinding, hammering, you name it. Still didn't work. I ended up buying a new key for 6 Euros and it worked. I honestly can't tell the difference between the old and new keys with the naked eye, but apparently there is a difference. Another strange thing about the locks? You slide the key in the slot and have to "find" the lock mechanism. If you're sloppy you can wriggle the key around for a long time and never get anywhere. All in all, these keys are pretty neat except for the fact that they're large and make your pocket bulge a little. I feel like I'm back in the days of the Smurfs, because these keys remind me of something Gargamel would use.

While I'm sitting here in a coffee shop emailing back and forth with Dorna, Kenny Noyes introduces me to a great helmet painter named Javi. Unlike many of the painters I've met back in the US, Javi doesn't seem to sniff paint! He's crystal clear and quite eloquent (at least, I think so). He has a website and we spent some time checking out the helmets he's done. Shhh. . . don't tell him but personally they remind me a little of fancy metalflake bowling balls from the 70's!

Here's a strange sight I captured. This is "the" D'Antin. The man behind the team. He rolls around on his two wheeler through the pits taller than everyone. . . . like a veritable lord being carried past the peons. Here he is surveying his riders out on the track during testing.

Nothing. She does not "like" her -- even though her friend likes her (who wouldnt? ).

Soooo... we shall see..she certainly likes to talk quite a bit (i'll be afraid to open my cell phone bill) -- she even apologized She wants to visit madrid, so i guess i'll see. Anyway, she is def a fun girl -- in a good way (and hopefully in a "bad" way too).

If the weather is good, i may go to valencia on the 27th or the 4th... It will great to get on the track there again.

Shame it rained out for my race... Not that i afraid to race in the wet, it just sucks on that track.. (Jarama is even worse ) it is slippery as chit, and it is more of a survival than anything else..and as you know, it was just for fun.. well... i choose to go home early...

But i feel better that the motogp guys did not want to even test in the rain, except hayden who just did a few laps... dont think he was thrilled to continue
