Thanks for almost taking me out today on 580 E this afternoon. :wtf Yeah, changing over 2 lanes at once to the fast lane so you could rub your front left side of your mustang on my right leg . . . that was great. A nice "sorry" wave could've quelled my fury :mad. Girl, you better learn how to drive, and look over your shoulder before changing lanes next time. :twofinger

Glad to hear you're okay Michele~~~~

Awwww, thanks Lah Lah! Yeah, I had a killer solo ride on Redwood today, then just chillin' on 580 back home this beeyotch almost killed me. It is very surreal to be goin' 80 mph and rubbing a car's left side with my leg. I took my hand off the throttle for a sec to smack her effin' car, then opened it up to get the hell outta da way! I was like "Oh no she di'nt!!!" :wow

Take care girl! Miss you.

That's cool, post his license plate for others to be aware. Good idea.

Hey Michelle, Glad you survived that. Missed you by minutes today!

Glad to hear you are okay, but IMO that is when out side rear view mirror need to be removed.

Was the car literally touching you? If so, you are lucky! Good to hear nothing really bad happened. I would not have taken my hand of my throttle though, due to fear of loosing control of my bike.

Yep, first time that has happened to me after 10 years of riding. I know I should've kept my hand on the throttle the entire time, it was just the shock of this actually happening that took me by surprise for 1/2 second, then I wised up and gunned it.

:laughing

I just love it when motorcycle riders pitch an open rant to a car driver in a motorcycle forum.

Like the offending person is really gonna read it HERE!

All just the same, I'm glad you made it out OK :thumbup

Report the hit and run.

report a hit and run
If you got touched I would report as you have the plate number. I will at least stop the behavior of one cagier.

Hey phreak_grrl, we've never met, but I'm really glad to hear that you didn't get hurt. I don't know if what I'm about to say would have made any difference in your situation or not but...

Perhaps this is already how you ride, but it bears saying anyway - if not for you but for anyone reading this. When you are on a multiple lane road, never ride so that you are next to another car, nor in their "blind spot" - at least minimize the amount of time you spend there. Either punch the throttle to take you clear of the "death zone" quickly or back off if they are passing you slowly. Then when people pull crazy shit like this... well, you aren't there to get hit.

Now admittedly this chick did a two-lane change which is much harder to predict happening - but still - it's a cheap lesson for us all.

With regard to the "blind spot" - most people don't know how to set the rear-view mirrors on their cars properly. Setting Rear View Mirrors Correctly So if you know this, you can look at each cars mirrors as you approach them to A) know if they can see you B) judge their driving ability by whether they know this or not. Then - ride accordingly as you pass them.

Later!
James.
