Lucas Oil

They have a pretty wide array of markets. From my experience they have a big presence in dirt track racing in the midwest. Even a race track:

Think of the all rednecks in the midwest that buy their product because they see it plastered around every weekend.

I use the 80W90 Hypoid gear oil, but nothing else. Lots of folks back east use it.

Read: east of the rockies.

:laughing at the thread. I think the same thing whenever I see Endurocross on the "Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour" or all of those inflatable LO products at outdoor motocross events. I think of them like energy drinks - I'm glad other people buy them so that they continue to sponsor events I like to watch.

I use their oil additive for break in on older style engines, (Aston DB4 & DB5, V8's and Lotus') that use dinosaur oil. The advantage is that they have a high zinc content which is almost impossible to find in most oils. However, I have now start using Brad Penn ( it is the old Kendall refinery, before Kendall got bought out by Ashland and went to shit) the stuff is great, I even use it it my bikes...It is considered semi synthetic and it has the all the good additives....

there's quite a few oils that have a high zinc content and all teh good additives. Motul makes some specific oils for 1920-1950, 1950-1970, and 1970 post. They also have the hoghest zinc content I've ever seen in one of their motorcycle oils which is consequently the oem for BMW M cars. Works awesome. I put it in everything now pretty now.

Kendall used to have some good stuff but it has gone to shit. Same with a few others.

Lucas is garbage from what I can tell. The people that I know who run it only do cause they get big sponsorship money from them. They spin a lot of bearings and other internal issues that I don't see with many other oils.

I used their auto transmission slip fix oil for my daughters old car a few years ago due to some slipping issues. Worked well and got use through another year without any issues, then we sold the car.
