Malibu Route Tips

Ventura was our first choice, but the hotels there are booked up. We'll be on a ride-sleep-ride-repeat cycle so I'm sure Camarillo will be fine. :thumbup

CJ

Yeah...I figured that might be a problem. Again...either way you'll have a great time! :thumbup

less bums in camarillo than ventura. less overcast but june gloom is about over

Good advice all. For food, I'd try John's Garden in Malibu, near Coffee Bean. Make sure to hit CB for an ice blended if you have time. You'll see a few of the celebs, in shitty proletariat life...bad hair and all.

i would change your route a bit between McKittrick and Ojai.

After Maricopa, turn off on Hudson Ranch Road (used to be Cerro Norreste) and head to Pine Mountain. Roads between are fast up and down sweepers, just incredible. You can gas up in Pine Mountain and then turn on Lockwood Valley and it will connect you to 33. It will drop you off on the good part of 33. If you take the main road from maricopa (166) to 33, its mainly straight roads until you get to 33 and Lockwood.

yes. good alternate route. right where lockwood meets the 33 the good stuff begins going south.

That is a bitchen' road, just over the hill from me.

I'd see if I could find out where Charlie Sheen lives in Malibu and see if you can have one of his cast off starlets. "Hey Baby. I'm an agent. Wanna be in a movie?"

That's our route heading home. Stunning roads!

I used to ride that road all the time when I lived in Arroyo Grande. I think its my favorite road...smooth, fast sweepers with ton of elevation changes.

Only thing to look for is the fine reddish sand that gets swept to the side of the road. Stuff is slippery, be on the lookout.

Will do, bro.:thumbup

Thanks,

Not in Malibu but if you have time, Hit up Angeles Crest highway for 100mph sweepers. Watch out for POPO though.

you really can't visit socal and not hit it.:thumbup

I hardly EVER see POPO above newcomb's ranch. they only go pass if there is a reason. as for ones below riders going opposite will warn you.

Potrero, Westside, Mulholland, Stunt, Tuna, Las Flores, Piuma, and Latigo. All exceptional, but Latigo and Stunt really stand out. Lunch at Dukes. 150 miles of goodness.

This is a terrific place to ride! Car traffic was light (on a Saturday!) and courteous. Each road had its own flavor, but offered tight, twisty fun. My next trip down here will be longer and include Angels Crest.

Thanks guys for the tips ! :thumbup
