Thanks for hosting the ride Paul. I'm glad I got to sweep A-group! Small groups FTW! I'm bummed about your spill Jeff :(. Those sliders were worth their weight in gold! It could have been worse and you could have been hurt but it wasn't and you weren't.

Glad to see familiar faces and meet new ones. a few pics in a bit.

I had fun hanging out with this group today!

If anyone is interested in one-on-one mentoring (gratis), I'm available M-F, 10am to 4pm on most days. :ride

That was a great ride. Thanks Larry for the awesome leading and Paul for the organizing and sweeping.
Curse that gravel patch! :mad

Well, I woke up at 9:15am and said to myself, "whoops!"

Sorry I missed what sounds like a great ride.

Time warp prelogue

Thanks to Mikey24W for hanging around after Hecker pass to make sure I didn't miss any turns. Great group of folks out there today. Jeff, hope you're not too sore Monday. I took off for Bear Creek / Hwy 9 and they were still cleaning the accident by 236, gave me the chills, hope all works out for him.
Great day/people to catch a ride.

snowboard

When all the snow is gone and snowboarding season is over, well be back to joining this ride again :ride

@llenta Jeff: hows the bike dude? Did the dirt buff out the way Triple Threat said it would? I hope so. glad you're ok.
ciao

In case you guys are wondering I'm fine. My leg is a bit sore, but a 400lb bike landing on you will do that. I'm sure i'll be 100% before the week is out.

As for the bike, the scratches are way too deep to buff out. I will have to contact the dealer tomorrow when they open as to how much an SE fairing will cost as I can't get them on bike bandit.

This should be a lesson to all new riders out there that think just because they are going at a mellow pace they don't need full gear. I doubt I was going more then 20mph when it happened but my gear kept me safe. You never know when something like this will happen.

Its one thing to crash when your doing something stupid, or riding over your head. But even riding at a safe pace, it can happen if you hit a patch of gravel or something slippery in the road. I'm not placing blame on anybody but myself since I was the rider and the only person to go down. I'm glad nobody else got hurt and I hope to get the bike fixed as soon as possible.

Bummer about the bike, but glad that you're feeling well as can be :)

Now what you should do is flog track fairings on the street and street trim on the track :banana

Let me know if you ever need a second set of hands to help with the moto on the weekends :thumbup

Well put.

Glad it was a minor thing. For the most part.

See ya soon. Let me know if ya need any help.

+10 on that Jeff and good to know you're fine. One thing I notice was the deep scratches on you right boot..,i could just imagine if it happened to an ordinary shoe..could be serious injury.

That happened because when the bike fell, it fell on my right leg. My boot took the impact from the bike when it hit the ground. That is the reason I spend extra money on good gear. It only has to prove itself once to justify (to me) why it cost so much more. If I had been wearing normal shoes or even non-moto boots, I have no doubt in my mind I would have a broken leg.

Jeff, my vote? Get that engine case and rear brake pedal replaced so you can get back on the bike. The upside of having the honeymoon over is that the honeymoon's over; you can now afford to be more cavalier on your baby and let it rip. :thumbup

Make it go first, then make it pretty again. :teeth

And Oliver, where the fuck are the photos?? If you took any photos of Jeff's bike before the mishap, then they are priceless to Jeff! :laughing
