MICRO short films (around a minute or so)

[short film]To live and die in West Marin (Shot on dji Action 5 PRP & Leica SL2-S)

This is what it’s like to live in West Marin (well, to me, it is.)
Half documentary, half narrative.
[Disclaimer] There are no firearms in this video.

How to film yourself like Steve McQueen, Leica SL2-S & SIURI 50mmT2.9 Anamorphic lens

No external monitor, very minimalistic set up.
What that means is that you have to film while looking at the picture squished from the sides.
This lens has 1.6x squeeze, so it’s not that bad. I think most people can handle this without getting headache.
(But, it is more difficult to focus, than, say... vintage still photo lenses. But, it's anamorphic. So it's expected.)

If it were 2.0x squeeze factor lens, then I’d use external monitor all the time.

This “short film” was shot in the same day, same time as my last video.
In fact, the previous video was shot in between the cuts while I was filming this.
( That deer with 4-point just showed up while I was filming this. So I took the camera off of the tripod, shot (filmed) the deer with handheld.)

Achieving the Michael Mann THIEF look “self rack focus” on Leica SL2-S (shot film)

The quick&dirty, pulling rack focus while filming myself. Using nothing more than just a Leica SL2-S with RODE video NTG on top, 35 & 85mm lenses, and a tripod. No helper.

Shot entirely in one afternoon. All by myself.
With Leica SL2-S and Sigma 85mm f1.4 DN DG ART lens and 7artisans 35mm f1.8.
Absolutely minimalist set up. No external monitor, no cage, nothing.
Shot with just available lights. (Except for “retort pouch curry” close up scene. (I was holding Apture MC in the left hand.)

Basically, I wanted to do “one man band rack focus” experiment.

I normally don’t like (therefore, don’t use) auto focus lenses.
BUT, there are times that they can be useful.

Filming "man's best friend" with Leica summicron 35mmf2 V5 (on SL2-S, with Leica M -L adapter)

M-mount lenses are NOT meant for shooting videos, I know.
But, I really don't care.
And I think it's totally usable.

Pro Sushi Chef’s Dark Christmas, an homage to Jean-Pierre Melville Le Samourai [Experimental short film, Leica SL2-S]

An homage to Jean-Pierre Melville's master piece, "Le Samourai".
Solitude. Silence. Slow-burn pacing. Yes, it is deliberately dark and quiet.
The opening shot, abandoned broken organ at the parking of church, was taken in Christmas eve afternoon.
I thought it's utterly proper, for the "Dark Christmas".
Story line doesn't make logical sense?
Doesn't matter, because, movie is essentially like watching dreams.

[One-minute short film] “Going to work…” (Guerilla filming with Leica SL2-S)

[description]
“Punchline” short film, No dialogue, No crew, No permit.
Shot entirely with SIRUI Saturn 75mm T2.9 anamorphic lens, on Leica SL2-S. NO EXTERNAL MONITOR. NO SHOTGUN MIC on top of the camera.

Careful, could be rough day at the job site.
Thanks for the comment. And sorry for the slow reply. (I work too long hours, too many days. I can do this only in my day off.)
I think, I enjoy making this kind of contents the most.
(Although, one-minute short film is a kind of graveyard niche on Youtube platform. Youtube algorithm doesn't like it ('cause they can't run advertisement), suggesting to post it as "short". :ROFLMAO: No way I'm gonna post these things as "shorts". They are shot on widescreen format.( I hate vertical format). No one, I mean, NO ONE will watch short film on Youtube short.

Good thing I do Youtube thing ONLY for having fun.
