Military canine 'in Afghan Taliban custody'

I care about what happens to all of the troops over there no matter how many legs they have.

Here's hoping if the dog goes out, he does so with his jaws locked on the crotch of one of those bastards, ala 'Nixon!!'

The thing about animals (and children) is that they reply 100% on the kindness and mercy of humans for their existence. So, there's something a little extra wrong there when people abuse that reliance. When a contractor wants to play in the sandbox for the big bucks and ends up looking like a drinking fountain, I feel bad, but there a part that recognizes...1+1 sometimes = 2.

Get that, but at this point, no signs that the Taliban have abused the dog.

See, a POW I could get angry about. The fact that they captured a dog and took a video? People don't even know what those guys are saying and they are getting mad because they have turbans on their heads. :rolleyes

Yup, agreed. First, the dog seems to be healthy, treated reasonably. The outrage is over its capture?

All life is precious, cheesy, but true. At the same time, the outrage over a captured dog (versus captured, live POW) is ridiculous.

Humans choose to be in Afghanistan

Dogs do not. We use them as tools. They're innocent In the situation. Humans arent

I watched the video, and I don't understand the outrage. Does anyone know what they are actually saying?

Dirka, dirka, jihad! :confused

The news story said he is being fed chicken and beef kabobs. Lucky son of a bitch! :mad

Likewise, you are just one human among over 7 billion on this planet. Who gives a fuck what happens to you either? I know I don't...:thumbup

That applies to each and everyone of us. Do you think the world will stop turning if you give up the ghost tonight? The dog was used in combat and was captured. Shit happens in war. I would use my outrage at the actual prisoner of war that almost everyone has forgotten about.

I think they should go get him back, just as they should with any other troops

effective propoganda. because it is a dog everyone gets all emotional and weapy.

:laughing

You guys crack me up; they're not going to kill the dog.

It's a trophy of war.

You don't destroy your trophies you show them off.

LOL +1. All things equal, would prefer the dog have a nice, long life. But this outrage? Talk about illogical.

There is still a living POW in Afghanistan (at least, we think so).

Pretty much sums up how i feel about it

They took the dog, if they mean the dog harm or not is kind of besides the point for me, it doesn't belong to them so they're pos just for taking it (then again it sounds like it was abandoned, but regardless...). I just really don't care cuz it's a dog, simple as that. Also a dog owner who loves my dog.

Cows are tools as well, also innocent, Americans just have this soft spot for dogs for some reason.

Didn't ask you to. In general, i hold human life over that of other species. Obviously others do not. I find this remarkably strange.

You do make a good point though, can people stop with kid pictures and all that sh*t. No idea why breeding is patted on the back so much like it's some sort of miraculous achievement.
