Why not just wire up a general USB plug, and then plug in whatever short cable you need? I've bought a couple of the 3BR USB plugs from Pashnit, and been very happy with 'em. One of my buddies uses the same setup now.

As an aside, I used to be really into the Powerlet stuff, but quite frankly it's ridiculously expensive for what it is, and you have to buy Powerlet specific cables for everything which gets old fast. Using a plain old USB socket means I can plug in just about anything and get replacement cables just about anywhere.
