Mission Honda loses franchise to SF Moto

I hope they manage to stick around, they are pretty convenient to those of us who live in D.C. and china town west for some parts and service.

That said, I'm riding a Daytona now because when I went to buy the new 636 the sales person I was dealing with was visibly irritated that I wanted a test ride - even though they had a demo bike with big signs saying "Book a test ride". When I showed up at the agreed upon time, the sales person had completely forgotten about it and had me stand around the shop for 20 or 30 minutes waiting for them to get off the phone. When I finally got on the bike, we rode to the top of San Bruno Mtn and then turned around and came right back. If that is the type of service they give everyone I'm surprised they are still in business at all - especially when compared to the level of service I got at Munroe buying a similarly priced bike.

This will be interesting, I love SF Moto, hands down one of my all time favorite Bay Area shops, the vibe there has always been most excellent, the reflection of good employees. I've only bought gear though, including the best set of leathers ever and when I am in the market for a second bike always check there first. Plus City Beer is right around the corner:thumbup

hey, if they move in upstairs, what's gonna happen to the bike show that takes place in March every year?

SF Moto (8th/Folsom, San Francisco) has apparently purchased the Honda dealership franchise from Mission Honda (Daly City). The Honda dealership will be relocated to SF Moto's location and the building will be brought up to Honda's standards as a showplace. Since SF Moto already has a staff, I imagine the Mission Motorcycle folks will be out of work. There is also a business located on the second floor of the SF Moto building on 8th Street. That business will be displaced as the building is rehabbed.

Do you know when this will be effective?

Transition starts early next year. Don't know details but there's still some things being ironed out from what as far as timelines

Haven't been there for 10 years but back then they treated me really well. The last new bike I ever bought, my '03 FZ1, came from Mission Moto. They gave me a dealer-led test ride, a great deal on the bike since the '04s were on the floor, and there was a British guy working in the service department, also an FZ1 rider, who seemed to really know his stuff. Don't know what they're like these days but I have good memories of the place. Except parking on the hill to get the bike worked on, never liked that.

Good question........certainly no room to expand out back right? Maybe work out something with City Beer?:teeth

great idea, hope the organizer is on it since we're only 5 months away....

Really like Wendy E., the owner. Hope she has a good plan and stays profitable going forward. She has put her lifeblood into that dealership and kept her people employed through thick or thin. I wish the best for her as she is a great person! I wish someone from M.M. would weigh in here... All The Best To You, Wendy!! ...from Duffy

just my opinion, losing Honda might be a blessing for that dealership and a curse for the other..

ymmv...
