MMMMmmmm Pizza...

That's the recipe I'm following.. no go. Either I am doing something wrong or it's no bueno.

Too elastic which makes it too thick.

SteelerFanatic - I would change one step in the recipe which would solve your problem of having elastic dough.

I think the cause of your tough dough is from balling prior to the final proof before baking. This can work if the dough can have enough time to relax. Higher hydration will help also.

I usually seperate the dough into individual pizza balls before proofing in the refrigerator. I put each one in its own small tupperware.

Depending on the ambient temperature, take them out anywhere from 1 to 3 hours before cook time to let them warm up and rise a bit before stretching and baking.

and another (+) for the Garrett: last month when I was there, they had 22oz bottles of Sculpin IPA for the price you pay for them at the liquor store!

I dont care what kind of pizza you are into- if you don't think zachary's is delish, you were issued faulty taste buds or have been eating too much ass or something. That chunky, herby fresh marinara alone is worth the price of the pie.

I dislike chunky, tomato-ee sauces, so naturally this combination doesn't help their pizza. If I wanted a tomato sandwich I'd just make that :)

Oh yeah! I've been there a couple of times... interesting twist on pizza! If you are looking for something different, this place is definitely different... :teeth

There is a curry pizza place on Valencia somewhere too...past Caesar Chavez I think.

Yeah it's right across the Safeway on the Mission/Cortland intersection, and it's pretty stinky inside, too.. ... but they do have 'indian pizza'. Vapors of indian food and pizza all over you

Talking about Zante's ^^^^ Pizza & Indian Cuisine.

Never actually been, a girl I was dating brought me some.

I've all sorts of fun pizzas, even deep fried pig's ears pizzas. Thai peanut chicken pizza etc.

SOOooooo... Clearly, I had to have pizza last night. Took my family to my favorite joint in town - Napoli Pizzeria in Vacaville.

Napoli Pizzeria
"REAL AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD SINCE 1968"

The staff is super nice and the pizza is very good! A great place for when you want pizza NOW - like me last night.

Got the Original Combo, a Pesto/Artichoke/Spinach (delicious!), and two Shock Tops. I'm good now. But will have to visit a couple of the ones recommended. :thumbup

Deep Dish is yuck.

I'd love to recommend some quaint little mom and pop shop that makes it just like back on Long Island, but I don't know any out here. I love Amici's in San Rafael and Mary's Pizza Shack in Novato. Amici's in SF is also pretty damn good and I'll always have a soft spot for Escape from New York on Haight and Lanesplitters over in Oakland on Lakeshore.
