Modifying seat to prevent chafing, raw groin?

Boxers or briefs? Some form-fitting tech-fabric underwear might be enough to reduce chaffing.

If that's sorted already, I can definitely recommend chamois butter. It's just fancy lotion, but it really removes that sting of abrasion and chaffing.

Wow! Thanks for all the helpful responses. Was wondering if it was just a weird fluke I was experiencing. Apparently others have too.

I'm more inclined to try seat covers, or different seat ( though I love the look of my seat and its in excellent condition if it wasn't for it pressing my undermidline area ), than cycling or other clothing. I am using a cream medicated prescribed by doctor. May try your suggestions too.

Anyone have recommendations for good comfy seats specifically for the 2001 Suzuki bandit 600 model motorcycles?

I may also experiment with making my own seat cover since I have a sewing machine.

The seams on my boxer/briefs were causing a lot of chafing. Bought some stretchy riding shorts with no seams and it helped a lot.

If the issue is pressure on your perineum and not with your underwear, then I can recommend the Saddleman seats with the cut out in the center. I have them on both of my bikes and I've done really long days on them. Because of the cutouts, there's no pressure on the perineum.
