Actually, I can understand why the OP asks. Many rallies (such as Paris-Dakar) won't allow helmet cams that are permanently affixed to the helmet. They had a rider several years ago who crashed and his helmet-cam took the force of the impact. Unfortunately, it pushed the camera through the helmet shell. Helmets are made to take impacts against flat ground in a certain way. Anything you put on the outside of the helmet might focus the impact into a small surface area and breach the shell, causing injury. This is why the helmets with spikes on them are for "display purposes only."
However, the mohawks I have seen attach with suction cups and are soft. They will tear off in a crash and are not rigid enough to significantly change the impact absorption of the helmet.
I personally like the mohawks, it tells me who not to ride next to. Also, I think it's a ticket-magnet, but you might have to ask the LEOs about their experience with the mohawks attracting Radar and Lidar.
