U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II said he "regrettably" ruled in favor of the Mongols.

As would the Boy Scouts, the JayCees, the Shriners... etc and any other 'gang' that displays 'colors'.

Violate one groups rights, and you better be ready to back up why you're not violating all the other groups that fall under your classification as well.

Court made the right decision on this.

Seriously though, the court did the right thing. The name/colors themselves aren't what is doing the illegal activity. But I can't blame the prosecutors for trying either. I see the logic behind it.

I sort of agree. The bench should be used to uphold the law, not to grandstand your personal opinions. It's unprofessional.

Its called a minority report or a dissenting opinion, an explanation of the minority opinions.

"Regrettable" is not a report of dissenting opinions. It is a personal statement that does not belong ih the courtroom or in public reporting.
