Weight on a scale can be misleady, especially when getting back into shape.
You will have more mass with muscle early, then as those muscles get more fit, their weight will drop as they get more efficient.
You will lose much more fat with cardio, but it depends on the level you're going. Aerobic pace will burn fat but anaerobic pace with burn carbs.

it really did help when i was able to burn more calories bc that’s pretty much my default mode.
