Sorry to keep straying off the topic, I'm not alone in my opinion about support units, you have a cool job and all and support does make up more of the army than combat arms but if you look at the overall fitness of a unit, combat arms are in much better shape. Manuals are great but they are just guidelines and not the give all end all of the military. I spent 22 years in uniform, 15 as a grunt and 7 as a pogue, airborne and mechanized infantry and military intelligence(counter intelligence) believe me I know both sides of the standard. How many 300's does your unit have? How many are from your female soldiers? In an infantry unit if you want to go to any of the cool schools(Ranger, Q course or anything like that) you better be in good shape or you aren't going. I was surprised by the number of support MOS's that were at airborne school that could barely do the PT.
I am a retired Master Sergeant and did 2 1/2 years as a First Sergeant, I've had to consel enough troops that were not meeting even our moderate standard. Good day.
