Balaton Park is going to be a historic as the track becomes the latest venue to have the MotoGP circus comes to pitch their tents. The Grand Prix of Hungary will be a new challenge for the crews and riders.

Here is a quick peek at the track.

Not sure how much of that is computer generated, but this high speed turn does not look to have the run off expected.

Here is what I assume is a more current aerial.

Unfortunately for the other racers it is Marc Marquez who is the current racer that has the most wins at new tracks.
Considering his season so far this year I don't think that bodes well for the rest. Olivera has won twice at new tracks, but given his season I doubt we will see much. Maybe an appearance in Q2 will prove me wrong.

Current Points:
Marc A LOT
Alex a lot less
Pecco even less
Everyone else forget about it.

So no pretty pics of guys from last years race. No real deep dive into a story line... just Marc. Kicking ass and taking names.
His utter brilliance is amazing. His quality seat time during races is so much better than the past. Specially when he was trying to wring out victories with an inferior Honda.

I guess the story line will be more.. can Aprillia and KTM continue to rise?? Can anyone else besides Fabio Q. even sniff Q2 on a Yamaha? Is there good food in Hungary if you are hungry?

Poll reflects the above.

I am still excited the see the new track and racing.

I am not a Marc fan but I do bow down to his skill. However, I heard something on the last race broadcast that Marc did not take a "salary" from Gresini last year because he wanted a chance to get to the Factory team. I do not think there has been another top rider that has decided that he did not need the money to race (yes, Marc did get money from sponsors but not Gresini) just to try and get to the top team. That earned a little more respect from me.

I saw that as well. His desire to win outweighed his desire for money. :thumbup

I am thinking if Pecco continues with podium woes he is going to get really bent.
Specially watching that other guy kill it. Wondering if he can keep it inside the house.

It has to be hard to be so elite and struggle. Props to Fabio for his professionalism faced with the Yamaha blues.

An interesting day in Hungary.

3 KTM's, 2 Honda's and one Yamaha straight to Q2.
Zero Apes and only 4 Ducs straight through. There are some big names left to do battle tomorrow in Q1.

Props to Pol on being the 3rd KTM. Love it when a test rider comes and kicks some ass.

Good job by Martin, who just missed out of Q1, pushed out by Mir...finally two hondas in Q1 not named Zarco.

Track looks way narrow at those chicanes...lots of misses in practice. Makes for interesting first race laps I think.

1/1000th is a just miss for sure!!

Interesting turn 1
Interesting that a Honda was sniffing a Podium.
Interesting to see the Champ rocking really good speed.
Interesting to see teammates on the podium.

Track raced small. Look forward to riders opinions

Look forward to tomorrow’s GP

Interesting turn 1
Prolly more of the same for Sunday GP
Interesting that a Honda was sniffing a Podium.
Mir top 6 two races in a row...Honda might be on to something
Interesting to see the Champ rocking really good speed.
Taking bets for clinching in Misano

Bastianini was slotting behind Marquez coming out of first turn when Fabio worked his "magic". If 23 stayed on his feet...could of been good things, GP not looking good with a couple of penalty laps.

Moto2 brings excitement!!

SO MUCH more entertaining than the "big show." DA80 made it worth the price of admission.
