Yo, If you're planning to hit the MotoGP this year, just a warning, last year there was boat loads of CHiPs hiding out near the freeway ramps and overpasses waiting to hand out tickets, and not tickets to the race either! I just got popped by SFPD in one of those pedestrian "stings"...$400 OUCH! No Playstation 3 for me. :( Never even saw the guy, he was on the other side of a van, cop said I should have stopped for the van, wrote me up anyway! No way I could've stopped in time, but what do they care?

Oh, Really?

Where was the pedestrian sting? Was it the one on Geary?

Easy there big guy, he is just trying to be helpful and hopefuly score a ps3 off us barfers via sympathy :twofinger

Fishing for a PS3...who me?! :teeth LOL, yeah, I know it's stating the obvious for anyone who went last year, but just want to warn my fellow BARFers who maybe didn't know.

Got popped on Hwy 1 just out of Monterey 2 years ago on the way to GP. One CHP pulled over all 5 of us. He was cool and gave us a break but still got a ticket.

They had at least 10 CHP's lined up on an overpass just ready for rapid fire ticket deployment.

Jeez, if only there were some way to ride on a public road without getting a ticket.

What is a pedestrian sting?

Years ago, I got pulled over turning left onto Van Ness by a LEO standing on the curb. I had no excuse though. A bunch of people, including me, were turning left when the sign clearly states "no left turn from ___ to ___." Since I had turned left there before (in fact, I'd done it almost every day before that with no incidents or problems) it was quite a surprise to see the man standing at the side of the road, waving me over to get my ticket. The best part is that every one of us pulled over, took our licks and went on our merry way.

I've never heard of the pedestrian sting though. But I also stop for pedestrians too. :p

I know, damnit all to hell, if only there was a way!!!:rofl

I'll be one of the few clowns cruising the speed limit down there around noon sat.

Last couple years they had Officers by the dozen on the overpass onramps waiting for speeders, bikes and CARS were on the side of the freeway getting tickets!:applause

Watch out for the Moss Landing area on the way home. (smoke stacks)

Hey, I'm going down Friday night and I'm also going to MotoGP. What time does the south gate entrance close? I plan on getting there around 7PMish

Word. They will be out in force this weekend. Tap your helmet if ya see 'em. :p
