Motorcycle Lights: LED, Glo's, or reflectors?

Heya~! Thanks for dropping in! I'm looking to add some lights to my ninja 250, but I'm unsure about the legality of which specific colors/kinds, their locations on the bike, etc.

I'm interested in reflectors, like these (some look kinda tacky...okay, VERY tacky...but some are cool :D)

as well as LED's that get tucked up inside the bike's guts, as well as the wheels: NOTE: I don't want them to flash like this link shows, just have a solid color.
The location of the lights shown in the link's youtube video is basically exactly where I want to put any LED's if they are allowed.

THAT SAID, I have no idea what colors on the bike are legal in CA when it comes to LED's, even after digging around online.

And, last but not least, some "glow action" which is basically pretty and pricey glow in the dark stickers.

I'm only inquiring 'bout all this bc I'm looking to become more visible, not to just trick my bike out and cover it in flashy neon obnoxiousness XD so, any info/advice/suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Tucking LED's up inside bikes doesn't make sense if you want to be more visible. The best thing you can do is wear hi-viz gear. Secondary would be doing some LED strips around your head light, mirrors, etc. Installing glowing stuff inside your fairing is just to show off while the bike is parked.

Definitely agree on going with hi-viz gear first. I don't think you can have those kind of lights on while you're actually riding; they'd be more of a distraction to drivers anyway.

I use additional reflective tape, but it's on my top case where it's much more visible. Might not be as obvious just on the bike.

I have the Darla's on my bike and each one puts out 2,000 lumens of bright white light in a broad pattern in front of my bike, out to 250+ yards. Cagers get out of my way. :teeth

Just get a roll of reflective tape and put it on all your gear :p

Soooo, is it illegal to ride around with LED's lighting up the internal bits of the bike...? (aka, cheeks to seat, on the street, not just sitting parked or putting around a neighborhood)

I plan to put reflector tape on my wheels and on random little spots on my bike/helmet once I figure out a cool design for 'em, although I would prefer to ride around with (not flashy!) a solid, not too bright steady color that illuminates the 'guts' of my ninja.

Thanks for the responses tho, gave me more to consider :)
