Giving a heads up to everyone about Motorcycle Superstore.
On 9/12/12 ordered an expensive modular helmet from them. Used it exactly twice and the front would not open properly after about 10 days.
Called them and they said send it back we will give you a credit and order a new one in the mean time.
I ordered a new one on-line within 5 minutes of talking to them.
on 10/30 received the original one back with a note saying the visor was replaced and should fix it.
Well I don't need 2 expensive helmets and I did exactly what they told me to do by returning the helmet and ordering a new one.
Called them on 10/31 and they said too bad we don't take used merchandise back. I explained that I had told them in the beginning that I had used the helmet and it was not working after 2 rides and that I was promised a refund and that is why I ordered another helmet.
Again they said tough luck and would not let me talk to a manager or have anyone call me back.
I am a very honest person and expect to be treated the same.
Going through my credit card company and disputing the charge. They said I am on solid ground and they will try and dispute for me.
Any other things I can do?
I was all set to order about $1000 worth of new riding gear by Christmas, but will look to spend my money else where. Will shop at local businesses where I know their word is good.

Wow, I've never had a problem with them before. I have ordered pretty much all my gear from them, and I don't understand the used gear part because when I bought my helmet, the first one ended up being uncomfy and I returned it. They gave me full refund, and I used that to purchase another one(different brand).

Beware: MS sometimes tries to pass irregular or damaged merchandise off as new.

Bought a pair of leather boots - one had a tear on the inside. Returned it for refund.

Went with a different brand/model. One of the boots was missing a fucking eyelet. Returned for refund.

Wasted a lot of time shipping shit back and forth.

+1 to the above. I ordered gloves. they were definitely 'worn' before. they were supposed to be new.

also, it wasn't that your helmet had been worn, it failed on you. that's different. write a letter to MS, cc: your credit card company. see what they do then.

did you get an RMA number from MS? you usually need one for any return, for any company.

I've never had problems returning things from MS, motomummy, kneedraggers... I usually do not return items. I have however called or emailed asking about a return policy.

good luck.

Your bank / cc company should be able to fix the problem for you.

I've only ordered consumables from them like tires, chains, sprokets. They have always been great with that stuff. Good to know to keep an eye out if ordering gear.

Sorry to hear this. I have had very good luck with them myself. I even had to return a jacket once because the size was wrong and they exchanged it no problem. The transaction went very smootly. And both jackets came sealed and in original packaging and was clearly new merchandise. I guess I got lucky...

I have adjusted my thinking as of late and now only deal with local vendors that I know I can trust. Better to keep the money in the local economy anyway.

Buying local is good (or so I hear from everyone constantly running their pieholes about it on here) but if you're still looking for stuff online, there's probably no one better than motorcyclegear.com (formerly newenough.com). They've been around forever and are reliable, trustworthy, and awesome. I've been buying gears from them for many, many years and they've always been absolutely great.

See what TJ can do for you at RidersDiscount. Give him a call at 866-931-6644, ext 817. I've had nothing but good luck with them.

+1. He always is able to beat the price other sites (even if just free shipping). I have also had great experiences with MSS thus far though...

Beware that if you return stuff to them (motorcycle Superstore), you need to check to make sure they credit it back to your Credit Card. Twice now I've had to call them. They probably would have just pocketed it if i didn't check.

Motorcycle Superstore can eat a king-size bag of hot death.

They hosed me on shipping charges and refused to make good on it. I hope the $20 or so they stole from me is worth me trashing them to anyone who will listen.

The first thing is Be Polite. If you piss them off they'll dig in their heels.

Politely tell them you'll post to every Internet motorcycle forum you can find, tell every motorcyclist you know, and every motorcyclist you'll ever meet about this scam and how badly they dealt with you.

Tell them you'll make a career of getting the word out about them.
