Mountain Dew soda is unhealthy

Soda is unhealthy.

/thread

This!

Stopped drinking soda at the age pf 12 when I discovered that you can dissolve the tarnish off old silver coins with any of them.

The joke is that every one of them would be illegal if the were delivered by your local water utility :wow

Somehow, the "beverage" industry got itself exempt from having to ensure its products are free of toxins. :mad

Don't even start me on the arsenic content of "mineral water" and Nor Cal wines :mad

Coincidence I had Mountain Dew just yesterday at KFC. I was tired of my same old boring brown bag lunch and was in the mood for some junk. The fountain machine root beer was empty so I tried MD for the first time in years. It reminded me why I never drink that shite.
The KFC wasn't any better.

carbonation and acids cause sodas ability to dissolve tarnish. those are not toxins. they are just food in the concentrations found in soda. u know, like orange juice, vinegar, cranberry juice, in tomatoes, etc. its the other shit in soda that make them terrible.

I used to drink the stuff all the time in college, part of the reason why I am such a fatass today. :laughing

I stopped drinking soda and it was the easiest ten pounds I have ever dropped. That was years ago though, and I wish I could do it again (drop 10 lbs that easy) :cry

I think almost anything except like Heroin in moderation is ok but Dew is designed to be guzzled by the gallon by teenagers.

I should really quit diet coke.

Diet coke must have weird addictive properties. I have known several coworkers who were rabid about it.

For sure. For me I would crave it with lunch food, but never any other time, and in my life I've never drank a soda without eating. I cut myself off and switched to water...unfortunately the new job has a soda fountain in the student cafe. I only drink it vs. regular coke because while it's clearly not healthy I'm not putting away 100 calories of sugar or corn syrup a pop, and secondarily because I'm so used to it I find regular coke too sweet lol

Very low percentage of people, eat or drink healthy.. They go by taste ..

Not by what the body wants for health. The Mountain Dew factory folk know this.

I know some guys that drink 5 (or 6 or 7 or 8 or... , ) per day of Red Bull/Monster/RockStar/whatever, every day. At breaks, they stand around and smoke a bunch of cigarettes, and towards the end of the night, seem to peter out, run out of gas. It is very predictable.
