I am still getting a buzz watching the Lawrence Bros. They fricking haul the mail and are often on the edge :hail

Getting Deegans ass out of the 250’s has maximized the fun. Great show so far.
 
Unadilla! 🙈 What a gut wrenching day in the second motos for my two favorites, Kitchen and Hunter.

Kitchen got a decent jump on the gate in the 2nd, but then got run out wide off the track to what seemed nearly Canada! Probably his best ride of the year, from dead last to salvage a 6th, for a 2nd overall, and retains a single point lead going into the final 4 motos.

Hunter however, after winning the 1st moto, was unable to finish the second moto due his crash while leading. Goes from a small, but nice cushion over Jett, to a 10 point deficit. Even if he can win out the final four motos, he may need some help from other riders, or Jett himself struggling a moto.

Prado, aka Prada, seemed to show a little more vigor this weekend. Maybe it was his contract extension with KTM? Deegan could at least see the front of the pack this weekend for a number of laps.

Eli, a 7-14 for an 11th over all. It was mentioned in an interview that Tomac believes he came back too early from his injury. Here’s to hoping he regains his form and speed.

Looking forward to Budds Creek! These eastern tracks are the shiznet. 👍🤠🇺🇸

Levi did one hell of a job in Moto2 but if he can’t get a start he might not win it.

It was interesting seeing Hunter try to get back to his bike after crashing.
That hill was steep and the TV cameras did not do it justice.

I am glad Prado is starting to shine. Chasing Jett for so long was great and for a moment I had hope.
 
What a roller coaster! Hunter is back in the points race, 1 point up on Jett going to Indiana this wknd and owns the tie breaker with overall wins. Whomever wins, wins. Cant remember a series that came down to the last race of the season for some time. 👏👍

Kitchen, what a heartbreak at Budds Creek. Don’t know what say…. When he is on, it’s special to watch. Still my favorite in the class, but short of a miracle, this will be Davies championship. Too many off days, inconsistent starts, and just plain old bad luck some wknds. 14 points down. 🙈

Have to hand it to Budds Creek, thought it was going to a mudder of a day watching the 1st 250 moto. But they did great work on the track, the second motos were great, real racy! 😎

Forecast calls for 80ish degrees and no rain until the following Tuesday in Crawfordsville Indiana. Great conditions to finish off the outdoors, hope it holds.
 
Finally got to watch and man that was a good show. Hunter legging it out and Jett making shit real in Moto2.

Nice to see the #3 near the front in Moto1 for sure.

Levi... WTF dude. I am disappointed for sure. Davies is looking strong.

So looking forward to seeing which Lawrence Bro is going to rule!!
 
May the most skilled rider win! I’m leaning towards Hunter, but I’m captivated by inspiring stories of riders who bounce back from injuries.

Well at Lawrence Bros is the Champ and a 19yo from a land far far away made his mark by joining some real talent by winning both Championships while still a teenager.

It was certainly an odd 450 final. Almost :wtf in the first moto. I guess it was as the announcing team were going :wtf

And Chance Hymas showed some serious speed. Maybe the MX of Nation Team is stronger than I thought. Just need to put a firecracker in the ass of our Kawasaki kid at the start.
 
Congrats to Cole Davies, he deserved that championship. :thumbup Still a Kitchen fan, but Davies was WAY more consitent this season. Not to take away from his speed, he hauled the mail when he was on (lights out fast,) and kept it respectable when he wasnt. Perhaps Kitchen will be motivated over in France to give a us a great showing. :flag

Still scratching my head two days later after watching the final 450 motos. Kudos to Hunter for sticking in there, even with some crazy setbacks this season. Genuine fan of him, seems like a straight forward no BS likeable guy to boot. I know the internet is swimming in conspiracy theories right now on Jett's performance, or lack there of. Supposedly hyper extended the injured foot in qualifying. It sure seemed strange see him have nothing for Hunter and others circulating those motos. All I can say is there was no smoking gun "Let Brock Bye" pit board sign from Keith McCarty (intentionally mispelled as was the original message.) :laughing Hunter also showed us amazing speed, beating Jett straight up a number of times this season. Deserving champion in my book.

Was thinking this past weekend on how the 450 class might be getting long in the tooth. Time for some new blood to move up. If we are moving folks up, who would be guys that could contend. I'd like to see Joe Shimoda on a 450. I know Honda doesnt have a need or slot for him on a 450, but it sure looks like Kawi does. Unlike Deegan, I think he might be even better on a 450 than the 250, as it lends itself to his smoother style of riding. He rocked the MXON on a 450. Kitchen too, I think could make a competetive ride on a 450. He'd still need work on his consistency, and keep it on too wheels. Anyone have any thoughts?

January and Supercross seem sooooooo far away. Thankfully, we have the supermotocross playoffs and the MXDN. I enjoy the Supercross season, but I am an outdoor guy at heart. Was a great season!

Long in the tooth... that would be Eli, Barcia and..... It sure is not the Lawr Bros. except for dominating.

I am betting Eli will be back for another year. Why?? :dunno
 
Eli announced his retirement this week. Hall of fame career for sure! 👏👍

As for the long in the tooth comment…. of the top 20 Supercross Championship points finishers last year, only six riders were under 30, and that includes Justin Cooper and Mitchell Harrison who are both 29 years old. So, four riders in their prime 20’s out of twenty slots?

I’m an old fart and remember when Hannah changed colors and signed with Factory Honda in 1983. He was 26 years old, and everyone considered him well past his prime…old… even questioned why Honda signed someone at the end of his career (injuries aside.) It would have been unthinkable for a factory level rider to be 30.

Jeremy McGrath won his last championship at 28.

The counter argument is of course Roczen winning the championship at 31, I think, last season. Athletes are proving to be competitive longer in life.

But at what cost to developing new talent? Only 20% of the field in their prime 20’s is too low, in my humble opinion.

Dunno, like to see some younger squirrelly kids get a ride on the 450 to shake things up. Just an opinion, got lots of them, and far from always right. 🤣🤠👍

It’s an interesting bench racing topic to me at least. Love to hear folks thoughts.

Jett Lawrence having right ankle surgery Sept 9 after re-injuring it at Ironman moto 1. Out for SMX playoffs. Explains his performance the final round, and should silence any critics of Hunters championship (no asterisk.) hoping he is back for Supercross.
 
My last thoughts or statement on the outdoor season….. I remember HRC signing both the Lawrence brothers for the 2021 season after the demise of Geico Honda, and thinking this must have been some sort of package deal. Didn’t see the potential in Hunter after that really lackluster 2020 season, and said so here.

Never been more wrong. Deserving champion on the 250s indoor and out after 3 seasons. 4 seasons in on the 450, and now a 450 champion. Real work horse. 👍
