my brother had a motorcycle accident happen right in front of him friday afternoon in downtown Sacramento. we havent been able to track down the rider to find out what his condition is. He was riding down P st in sac which is one way he was in the far right lane when a car ran a stop sign on the left side and crossed all the way over hitting the riders front wheel which spun the bike around body slamming the rider between his large Honda crusier and the car an old datsun b-210. my brother stopped to give first aid and a statement to the police. The driver told the police the rider was doing at least 60 ina 25. My brother stated the rider was probably not even doing 25 he was right behind the rider same lane and gave a statement to the officer including his contact information. Rider was wearing a full face helmet leather jacket and gloves and levis. he was amazed at how bad the rider was twisted up and crushed at such a slow speed. he appeared to have one badly fractured leg wrapped around his other leg and a badly broken shoulder and arm as my brother put it all his arms and legs were pointingat unnatural angles. he was concious when transported. If not for the helmet the rider would have probably died the helmet was hit by the right rear wheel of the car and kicked out from under the car.

Wishing a speedy recovery to the rider.

Glad to hear there were witnesses on the scene who were able to report to the police what actually happened with the car running the stop sign and that the motorcycle was not speeding.

Yikes! Pretty horrific description of what happened. Right on for your bro. stopping to administer 1st aid. Good luck to the rider, hope it works out well.

hope the rider is ok.

i often come down that way and likely a friday afternoon. what a fucking ass saying 60mph.

That's scary... I drive down P pretty often and I'm always kinda scared someone is going to do that. Do you happen to know the cross st? I have some friends on P and 22nd.

What a scumbag the driver was. I'm surprised someone who values honesty that much even stopped.

I hope the rider has a quick and full recovery

I'm suprised the driver didnt run also. The accident was at 27th and P st's if anyone gets any info on the riders condition please let me know. my brother used to ride until he became a single parent he made his kids his prioroty and got rid of his bike. so he still thinks like a rider.

I'm certainly glad that you were there to give your version of what happened in the accident! :thumbup

It sounds like the drive was an absolute fucktard who was perfectly willing to flat out lie to cover up his own stinking mistake! People like that should be drowned at birth! :x

Well, good for the rider that he at least has a good witness to say what really happened.

I had a similar thing when some silly tart pulled out in front of my on a roundabout, I was doing <25mph (in a 30).

She claimed I was speeding, that the way was clear when she pulled out, that I was doing at least 50... (there was no damage to the bike, except for a busted footpeg... the car was pretty messed up tho.)

Some nice old dear who'd been behind her piped up and told the cops how it really had been. That was the end of it right there - I got a fat compensation check, the woman got a huge insurance claim and banned from driving for a month.

Hope the biker heals up well, that's going to be a long recovery :(

Have your brother write down as many details as he can, NOW, because his memory probably won't hold it all. That'll also impress the cops with how seriously he's taken it.

Get well, rider. Thumbs up to your brother! Express our thanks to him. As for the cager, well, we probably all feel pretty much the same.

Codger,

Please tell your brother thank you, on behalf of the rest of us. We need more people like him. I've seen far too many who aren't willing to stop and help out. Too often an innocent victim is screwed because the person who could have corroborated their story decided that "it's not my problem."

Again, thank you,

Agreed on the thanks to your bro.

And agreed on the write it down now statement.

And agreed on the liar driver.. assssswipe.

:smoking

Your Brother is a class act!!!! Tell him 'Thanks'.

I hope the rider heals quickly. I hope the cager goes to Prison and is shanked.
