National Certified Riding Coaches

From what I know, when it came out, it started to fall apart pretty quickly. Became one of those power center things...and many coaches moved back to independence. A quick search for coaches in CA has a long list. I know several of the people, but not as coaches (in the traditional sense). Others, I know as coaches, but not many in that list. There's several missing that are the big names in coaching (sport bike guys)....

Very interesting. Color me skeptical.

I clicked on many of the profiles and wasn't able to find a solid clearly defined method of certification.

so hit them up.
Learn anything? I skimmed through their FAQ and found it a bit confusing - are they offering coach training for people who have never done formal coaching/moto skills instruction? Or are they merely trying to create a national certification standard that would be a clearinghouse and standards umbrella org for moto coaches who have been certified via other programs like MSF, US military, etc.? They talk about Moto Coach 100 training that seems to include an intro to coach training, but I couldn’t quite work out whether that was for total coaching newbs or was a higher-level standard for experienced coaches. Anyway, sounds like it could be interesting if they actually get it to take off.

Another question:
Are they monitoring / checking if applicants aren't registered sex offenders?

I'm certified and they do a full background check particularly for sex offenders, among other things. The certification process also has abuse training.
Awesome.

I could use some abuse training. it's a skill I really haven't developed as much as I maybe should.

I had my suspicions about this program, and learning that you're one of the certified coaches gives me much more confidence. Not that you'll remember this, but you coached me almost exactly 20 years ago, and it was a positive experience. Thanks for providing your insights.
