Need advice on new bike for low height

Maybe all the short guys need some ovaries to ride big bikes :twofinger *sad trombone*

:laughing

I'm pretty sure i've only owned 1 bike in my entire life that I could flat foot both feet on.

my XR50.:p

Thing that sucks about 1 toe'in it is .. how are you going to hold your bike steady while your girl climb on ?

man up and ride. geez.

ok, seriously, the triumph daytona 675 has a narrow seat, so you'll have more inseam to work with. I'm 5'5", maybe 28, 29 inseam. I ride a zx6r and a 1000rr. can't flatfoot either. you do get over it.

sit on a bunch of bikes with your boots. see what you like. and yes you can lower the bike, it's not a big deal if you drop it an inch for street riding, ppl will insist you will f up the handling, meh, it's fine for the street.

If you want to 'sit' on mine let me know. you are welcome to.

If both your feet can touch the ground there is no need to lower. Go to an mx track most cant flat foot. The only people woried about not flat footing are Starbucks Riderz who did not buy abike to ride it.

Try a Velocity Racing/Oriental Express built Hayabusa. They come with the subframe modified and suspension lowered so seat height is about 22 inches. Only drawbacks is one of those will cost you about $40K ... and they corner like crap! :teeth

I have an XB9 with two seat heights. want to take a sit?

An XB9 if a lot of bike in a small package. Too much fun :thumbup

I was obsessed with motorcycles since childhood. Long before I moved to US and could afford to buy one. In my teens I was convinced I will never be able to ride anything else other than cruisers because of my height [ 5'5" with 29" inseam ]
I actually used to use a ruller and a bench with pillows to try and mimic the seat height of bikes I liked in magazines, see if I could ride them :laughing

My first two bikes were really low seat cruisers [Virago250/Intruder800] But within the first year of riding realized I rarelly if ever used both feet on the ground.
Then I had the courage to try bikes to tall for me to have both feet flat on the ground. What a revelation that was. Find the balance point and just the tip of the foot on the ground is all you need.
I tried and rode anything from Vstrom 1000's to 950ADV's. No problem.

if you've ever ridden a bike (bicycle) with toe-clips or clip-less pedals, then you should be able to stop 1-foot down. you never un-clip both sides at a stop, unless you are completely dismounting.

I'm 5'4" with a 30" inseam. I refuse to MTFU, since I'm so new/green, so I'll be buying another stock seat for my little CBR250R and shaving it down to give me more footprint. Haters gonna hate, but I don't care. It's my bike and my ride! Do what makes you comfortable. :)

Get used to it adapt and move on! I being vertically challanged have had this issue my whole 50 years of riding unless its a real heavy bike you dont need more than one foot down during a stop. I have a28" inseam and one of my bikes has a 37" unladen seat height! its an xr650l but its a nice light little bike i kind of lean off the seat at stops and plant my left foot if i stay centered on the seat i can touch with my toes on each side! you will get used to it either that or give up and buy a crusier.
