Nevada: Best-Kept Secret in the West?

ill be there and plan to touch nevada oregon and california in one day.
The Perseids meteor shower peaks on August 12th! The quarter moon will be setting around midnight so viewing in that part of the world will be spectacular :)

Don't y'all worry, the Nevada BDR is an older route, so if it was gonna blow up Nevada riding it'd have happened, your secrets are safe, but also, please tell me where I can have fun on my DRZ, maybe we need a private forum to off road riding Intel. For BARF eyes only?

^^:thumbup

turns out our quaint BARF Adventure Riding subforum is so low-traffic that it’s actually very stealth … almost as good as a “private” subforum, maybe. :facepalm:laughing

and pretty sure the “keep NV secret” posts in this thread were tongue-in-cheek. :angel

as someone from New Jersey who knew nothing about dual-sport riding or places in the West, I learned a lot about NV and got a lot of inspiration from Ms @WoodsChick ride reports here on teh BARFs, and from this thread and some of the other nice people who shared their NV photos … :toothless

gratuitous NV riding idea pics:

Virginia Peak, near Reno (Mr @Cabrito in the picture):

Lucky Boy Pass, near Hawthorne, NV, ona BARF Rally:

anyway, I’m no NV expert … :blah

Well shoot, I wanna do the end of pavement rally, but I think I'm still in Colorado for those dates. I am considering bringing the DRZ to Hawthorne this year though, .maybe with new tires, maybe with what's left of the tires on there now after 2400 miles.
