Nice, I don't care for sport bikes on average but I do like the stripped look of the Buell's and the Ducati Monsters.

:love :love :love Despite all rational thinking I really want one.

Woohoo! I hope this drives 9R prices down a bit. I don't care if it's 103hp at the crank, that still means around 90 at the wheel. Looks like much fun!

I know it is a matter of personal taste, but I think those bikes are pretty ugly. I am sure they perform well for what they are but it just looks like they through a bunch of non functional parts at it to make it look more modern than it actualy is.

Just my observation. I have not seen one in person or riden one so my opinion is based entirely on that photo.

glad to see there is more power now. I have to say i like how the pipes are curved. the rotors are interesting....

Ride b/f you buy. Compared to jap bikes of similar power those bikes feel clunky. Brakes are good and they wheelie!

And expensive to buy and own.

Not sure what to think about Buells. I had an M2 for a while. Power was fun, sounded nice, but it just seemed, well, just not for me. Bought it new, sold it a few months later when I bought the RC51. :)

Expensive to buy and own? You can get them well under MSRP, and they already lowered MSRP on the 9's. You don't have to adjust the valves, no carbs/throttle bodies to synch (only one TB), no chain to adjust/lube. Less time wrenching and more time riding. Sounds good to me. I've yet to hear of poor reliability from the latest Buells. I think they rock.

I like mine just fine!

I've owned my 2000 M2 for about a year now, and I like it just fine! I agree with the "power was fun, sounded nice" thing, but I would ad that I like the way it handles and that it's very cumfy (for me anyway) on longer rides and that it IMHO looks great too!
It still turns lots of heads.

I like that it DOESN'T look like any other sportbike.... Unfortunetely it seems they're trying to change that little benefit on the new models:(
(at least on that black and gold one).

I looked up the specs for a 2000 M2 and found that it's supposed to run 93.5 HP and 103 lb ft of torque ***STOCK***

I've not had my bike on the dyno yet, so I'm not sure what the HP increase is since I added the K&N, Force intake, rejetted the carb and installed a V&H pipe, but I'd have to guess it's pushing (if not by much) the 103 HP of the new models....

So besides the new look... What's the advantage of the new models?? I doubt if I'd really notice the relatively small HP increase:confused

I think I'll just keep my bike and save some $$$$$

BTW... I paid $5,200.00 for my Buell and NOTHING EVER BREAKS.... Best bike I've ever owned

Lighter , better , actually much better chassis and brakes
Don't mean to put your bike down , if you like it is all it matters but the new Buells are a big improvement over the old ones

getting better and better....

Sexy or Ugly, just ride it if you like it.(hmm, that might have a bad connotation:laughing I just think Erik Buell has done wonders for being the one of the few american bike designers to tackle the sportsbike market. And the fact that he use to race himself, gets a big :thumbup from me.

Now if only the Motor Company, would give him the new engine he deserves, instead of the old tweaked out "sporty" engine...Maybe he'll get a new partner and design his own engine. But I'm sure H-D is not dumb enough to let him go. Especially, now that Erik has a good following...right, BlueBuellFool? ;)

Until H-D stop being stingy and give Erik the new engine, make mine a rice burner:teeth

Ducati? now there's an ugly bike...............................................................................;) :burnout :laughing

Buell gives test rides. I've ridden a new Buell and they are very interesting MC's. I'm going to test ride one of these new 1200's as well. the Buell dealership in SB is right on HWY 92 and it is a twisty mofo that's right up the Buell's alley. If you had the money to buy toys the Buell would be under the XMas tree. But to live with day to day it's not for me. And I think it looks the tits.

Hmmmmmmm, test rides, eh?

Maybe I'll just cruise down there and PRETEND that I'm interested in trading in my Cyclone so I can get some fun test rides in!

The trouble with test rides/drives is that you usually have to put up with an hour or so of B.S. from the salesman, pressuring you to BUY! BUY! BUY!

The truth is that I really can't afford a new bike, and because I'm not working, I couldn't get a loan if I had to......

Guess it's a good thing I like my bike so much:p

When wil they wise up and scap the belt drive? I am no fan at all of the belt, for crusers its fine, for a bike that is supposed to be riden hard and played with, forget it.

I agree , its stupid. I think thay just want to keep them different. They say is for low maintanace , but who cares , its a sport bike I rather have to lube a chain and be able to change my gearing when and how I want than being stuck with a belt drive.

I have several hundred miles on a buell and some time wrenching on them. they are cool for just tooling around on, being loud, turning heads..

the pegs are awkwardly low, it felt too much like a hybrid cruiser/sportbike. the engine has obsolete core technology that was invented in the 50's... i mean, c'mon! Harley has the money to develop a decent bike, they are just doing it in a completely half assed manner. 15 years down the road it will bite them in the ass.
