new license plate - need sticker?

I ordered a vanity plate for my bike because I am vain! It's going to be here in 8-12 weeks. In the meantime, I got my registration stickers, valid from August.

When I get the new plate will they give me a new sticker?

Or do I risk it for 2 months (save sticker for new plates)?

Or do I have to buy a new sticker at the DMV, which you can do according to their site?

I think they usually include the sticker with your registration card/papers.

When you pick up the new plate and turn in the old one at the DMV they will issue a new tag with your current month of expiration.

Mine came with a new reg to match the plate, with new stickers.

Reg stickers have serial numbers which are registered to your plate number. Definitely do not use the stickers that were issued for your old plates on your new plates.

This is a bigger no-no than many people realize.

I used my car stickers for my bike for two years straight. Not recommended but it kept me from getting pulled over.

Edit: I broke a lot of rules.... and lived to tell about it
