New zx11 owner

Sweet buy, That's so refined. I trust you will give Western USA a workout on it.

For tires...I'm beyond giddy happy with Metzeler Road Tech Interact's.

I gave them a shot, because, they use a single compound, across the Profile. I had been using multicompound tires, and getting pissed off at the wear patterns that develop at the line the compounds meet at.

Interact series..uses different cord tensions to get high wear in the center, and max grip towards the sides.

I use Z6 for the roads I ride...You could prefer Z8's if you want to try these.

Oh, I'd suggest you leave the exhaust alone. Just be thankful it is what it is.

I dont have much experience with different brand tires but ive always been happy with pilot roads 2's don't last long but stick like glue.. been debating if i should get the new 3's maybe they live up to the hype... With the zx11 my riding is commute during the work week and my days off i just slab it wherever to get to some nice roads.. def not a goaty road bike.. i had the new conti road attacks on my tiller just before i sold it maybe put 2k miles on them rain and shine..in the rain i did feel some slipping they were sopose to be the shitz

MotoTireGuy would be good to talk to, To pick a brand/model of tire, for your use, and season...The way all the brands are changing...I'm hearing great feedback, about tires I won't have a chance to try.

But since the word Rain was mentioned...the Z6's have the most Rain tread pattern I've ever seen outside a WSBK race run on Rain Tires...:laughing

ime quite happy with my road attack 2s and i think you would be fine with either getting those or the pilot road 3

keep in mind thats a heavy bike, commuting and slabbing on the weekends will definitely wear the center flat before your use up the edges.

you can get a set of BT-023 GT's

same style as the 023s but the GT is made for bikes that weigh in a bit higher!

That is a SICK Bike!!!! I love Kawi's too. The previous owner deserves a round of applause- they took GREAT care of that bike.

I still kick myself for selling my ZX9-R. It had all of the bells and whistles for ST'ing. I love my ZREX though.

Keep us posted on your trips.

Oh, regarding tires; 1. Go to Santa Clara Cycle 2. Avon ST tires kick ass!!! I used to run those on my ZX9. I'm using the Meztler ST tires on my ZRX1200.

ahh so many good/decent reviews on different brand tires i don't know what to choose :laughing i still want my stickiness in the corners for the big 11 but also want some mileage..had a good experience with pilot road 2's but want to try a different tire.. sucks i didn't put enough time on the road attacks before i sold the bike.

When you buy tires just make sure you get something speed rated; the bike will go 177mph. :teeth

anyone have experience with the Pirelli Angel ST? i didn't like the "fall" in feeling with the conti road attacks... looking for a tire thats just point and shoot without the fall in feeling if that makes any sense

I don't like "fall in" either.
The fall in, wouldn't be an issue for me, except...The Un-acceptable...farther end, where fall in, turns to push down, and to get back up, takes lift it, back up....That becomes work.

Totally neutral is available...Metzeler and Pirelli Have that Profile (when New) and that's what makes them the tire brands for me.

Now different bikes with their different distributions of the weight, and geometry, will, naturally feel different with the same tires..And different riders, going about where they ride....will get different impressions...but...I know what I'm getting from Metzeler and Pirelli...and not from any other brands.

Danny out riding the big Kawk :thumbup

Congrats on the new bike - she's a stunner! :thumbup

I just finished a set of PR2s on my SV1K and didn't like the wear (rear is cupped) and the handling was not as quick as sport tires. I only go 5.5 K out of the rear and tend to get close to this on M3s. Even though the front is still good, I'm getting a set of M3s - $200 delivered from Motorcycle Superstore!

I really like the Metzler M3 sport tires. They are single compound and wear evenly for me.

In a straight line ...:thumbup

Sweet lookin ride, congrats!

What mods are you thinkin about?
Turbo FTW......jk no other mods needed fast enough for me..happy it came
With the goodies that I would have put on anyway. Thinking of doing a repaint because there are some garage nicks where the kids knocked it over! Candy apple red instead of the stock red wine paint..im ready to get back to the sierras I miss living that way beautiful!

Perfect explanation..the road attacks had me working out to get the bike side to side..to much work, looking for that smooth transition...think im going with the angels this season
