NFL 2020

Has kind of a Jake Cutler vibe about him.

Watching him take all those hits in AZ makes me think he's not as fragile at Garrapolo, and he's better than Larry Mullen Jr*... :dunno

*Yes, the drummer from U2

Might be a really good move as a Back-Grap.

What’s wrong with his face?

Wonder if he’ll be the miracle? Would be a great story.

:laughing i dunno prolly cuz imma bit of a dick

never know. he's was highly ranked coming outta colledge

I know I bad mouthed him back when he shifted from the Cards to the Fins.

Now I’m hoping he finds his way back to being everything people expected when he got drafted. :laughing

I was fully on the Rosen train coming out of UCLA.

He got the Alex Smith treatment going to Arizona and then Miami, two horrible franchises.

I doubt he plays, he won't have time to learn the playbook. You can't deny his talent in college though and I would be completely on board with keeping him next year behind Jimmy and getting rid of Mullens and Beathard.

Alex Smith did pretty well, but was screwed more by Coaches than anything else. The Niners were a complete dumpster fire when he was drafted, and the first few years were rough, but after he came back from taking a year off for injury, pretty much every year he had was good. In the best season of his career, he got dumped for a trashy RB pretending to be a QB so the Coach could run a gimmick offense that would be gone from the NFL in like 3 years.

Every year he had in KC was a good year, but again, when he had the best year of his career, he was traded, this time because they just had a younger, better QB on the Bench.

At that point he had been a starter in the league for 13 years, so anything after that point is just kind of gravy, you know?

yea he's done in the league

I don't know, he is only 25. He may make it back in as a Practice squad guy some day. He hasn't really made enough money to call it a career.

that's what I'm saying. Rosen was drafted into a dumpster fire in AZ, and then traded to a dumpster fire in Miami.

Yeah, but the Niners were a Superbowl Team when Smith left, so were the Chiefs.

Both had better options when he left. that's just how it is .

Didn't I just see that Mullens is having Tommy John surgery and out for a year?

Puts a new slant on that quick snappy release I noted about him. Now I wanna know why Philip Rivers hasn't had that surgery afaik. His release just looks so wrong...

Quick release doesn't mean shit when you stare down receivers, can't read a defense, and don't have the arm strength needed to make NFL throws.

Because if they give Rivers surgery he will collapse into a desiccated pile of mummy dust?

Sounds like Mullens is over, Beathard will be Grapps backup with Rosen playing a "Prove It" for a roster spot.

There seems to be a sentiment for Beathard because he was Kittle's QB at some school, I guess. BUt in my reckoning or perhaps wishes is better word, only Garap is left next year, with all new guys.

I'll say it again. As a guy who tries to watch every second of Niners play, I saw Beathard just get the shit beat out of him and it was painful. He earned respect and even love just for that pounding he took but it's the wrong reason to hang onto somebody in that ruthless sport. I get the feeling he's a truly great guy as a teammate.

He isn't fast enough to get out of trouble. I mean, if the o-line gets fixed and/or the RBs are all healthy, he has a chance, but otherwise, they need a scrambler by necessity not by fortune. Shanahan's system would seem to not require a scrambler but that's if everybody's healthy, I guess.

Mullens scrambled better than Beathard, he actually had a nice spin move, but he is too short and isn't steady as a passer. He's the guy who gets passes batted down and probably can't see well enough to watch the receivers trajectories....

It will be a pleasant surprise if Beathard is successful for last two games, but I don't expect it from past times.

Especially because Rosen is going to get some Deck Time fo sho to see if they want to keep him around next year.

Would be kinda kool to see Rosen win the final game of the season for my 9ers and put the kibosh to the Seahags getting homefield or <gasp> losing the division to the Rams should they lose their final two games and the Rams split.

I did not think the 49ers game was going to be that close!

AZ collapse. It just happens to some teams (cough...Texans). And the 49er Super Bowl defense showed up. I kind of think the Az let their guard down, too, though, given the losing record of SF.

Beat hard got sacked, he fumbled but in general, the AZ rush was not formidable enough as some of the past few teams they have played so he had success. The one time he took matters into his own legs he nearly got a concussion.

Now the Klowns on the radio are playing what if.....I already know what if they had let Beathard start. He would have been pounded and pounded.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect the guy but he is not fast enough for today’s NFL. He got away from a few grasps. That would not have worked against the Rams or the WFT.
