S1000RR, F650GS(twin), F800GS, G650GS, 450X, G650X series ... as well use chains.
F800S and ST continue to use a belt drive.

They all have excellent fit and finish. Why not get one that isn't ugly and slow. And I seriously dispute your statement that the engines are boring. If you really think that, you're doing it wrong. Most modern Boxers (with the likely exception of the ugly stepsister you want) are eminently rideable and fun.

FWIW, I was all set to buy a used R1100S but the engine was "so boring" :rofl I bought a R1200R instead. That engine is amazing - but you know that. And my choice was really about the passenger accommodations, luggage, and pure sexiness of the Classic in the showroom. The R1100S is a lovely machine.

Jesus Christ, I don't know how I forgot about all of those. As I was typing I was thinking to myself, "That can't be right..." so never mind what I said about the only modern BMW with chain drive. :facepalm

I dont think any real JDM fanboys have have enough money to be true company fan boys. I don't think I've said any bullshit about BMW's. Are you referring to all the times over the years I've warned people about exploding expensive driveshafts and had barfers tell me I'm full of shit and it never happens?

Any one who's in the true Japanese sportbike fanboy catagory really just wishes they had a Ducati, but I didn't know we had that many JDM bikes here to begin with.

In general BMW fanboys, car and moto, will always think BMW's are the absolute best and worth every penny. They will say and trick themselves to think anything to continue believing BMW's are the best.

Lots of them say a 90k 15 year old BMW is just broken in and is wroth a rediculous amount.

You're ignoring the fact that since it's their money they're spending, what matters to them is all that really matters. If you don't like it, then stop worrying about what other people do.

And the only thing that sets the prices of the used models is what the market will bear. Not what "lots" of other owners think.
 
You're jumping topics. I don't care what you buy. I do feel obligated to give good advice to somone asking how they should spend four to fifteen thousand dollars.
Those people feel a need to ask. That means they're uncertain, or don't know anything about anything and want real world advice.

If you wanna spend your $20k on a HD or BMW or anything else I wouldn't I really don't care. If you want an opinion I'll give you mine but what you do with your money has no effect on me. Actually it's better if you buy junk I don't want because the junk I want will become a little cheaper.
