I haven't been able to ride my baby (ninja 250) for close to a month now and last week I tried starting it up. But it didn't work. Battery's not dead because the lights work, plenty of gas in the tank. What could be the problem and how can I fix it? Also is turning the idle adjuster clockwise making it higher?

Thanks!

Your battery may not be "dead" but it's almost certainly weak. EX250s need really healthy batteries. Second thing to check is your fuel, California gas goes bad in a heart beat, Ex carbs clog easily. Try charging your battery a bit first.:thumbup

I swear, it's a pretty common problem with these bikes. They are very cold blooded. Turn on choke, make sure pet cock is on. Hold starter in 5-second intervals without twisting the throttle.

If there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the bike, it should start after a few tries. Also, if the battery is dying or not providing enough voltage, it will crank the starter, but the bike won't start. In that case, you'll need a jump or re-charge of the battery.
