oil too high, whats the easiest way to lower the oil level?

I was careless when topping off my oil, and added too much. Is there an easy (non-messy) way to take some out?
 
You can unscrew the oil filter partially with a pan underneath, that will drop a cupful or so. Turn the motor over briefly to puke out more. (Don't start it). suck it out with a syringe. Get a friend and pick up the bike and hold it upside down with the cap off.
 
ride to Mexico in front of Stan, most of it will end up on his windscreen
 
Just loosen the drain plug until the oil starts to leak then you can pretend you have a Harley:rofl

But dont ride it with "colors" on this weekend!!!!

I always use the same 6 guys as when I change a light bulb

same way you drain a power steering pump on a car: turkey baster, or syringe with a small section of 1/4" or 3/16" tubing on the end, so you can go in deeper.(TAP plastics sells giant 50cc syringes and tubing)

I've used a large plastic syringe with a small tube attached... you can buy the syringe at tap plastics and the clear plastic hose at any hardware store.

If it is just above the full line, then I wouldn't worry about it. If it is near the top of the sight glass then you should drain or suck some of it out.

It's easier to fill and check the level a few times then to overfill it and have to take some out.
 
If it's just a tiny bit high it shouldn't hurt anything and you'll leak/burn it off in no time.

If it's higher than that, also look around for test ports, caps, anything removable that is around the height of the oil.

I dunno about yours, but on my bike, there is a pressure test port that has what looks like a drain plug in it, at almost exactly the full oil line. I overfilled it once and used this to drain just a little bit out.

Cheapest way is go to 711-then get one of those long slurpee straws for free, buy 1 slurpee, it is hott today.
Open the oil plug and suck it out, you will see the oil rise and put your finger on the top and drain, repeat.
