Our new CBX Titanium

The dude builds bikes. I'd like to read what he has to say. Did he take up space needed for another crap on Cycle Gear thread? Or where can I get my zipper fixed?

We have completed the build of our CBX Titanium . Our shop is Imagine! Vehicles International. You can check out our website at.........

Take a look at our photos as well and let us know what you think !

That is his first post on the BARFs. He doesn't want to talk bikes, he just wants you to look at it. First impressions are usually right.

Move this to moto pictures/video section as that is what this is.

Yeah, why waste space looking at a custom bike when we can argue about oil and abs?

Quit wasting peoples time posting bikes on a bike forum.

There's a difference between a guy who builds bikse and a wants to share that with a group of fellow bike builders and a guy who builds bikes to sell them and views this and a dozen other forums as free marketing. You'll notice his posting is awful short on real information and awful hard on "buy my custom". No reply on the work done to adapt the swingarm to the bike, trade secrets, dontcha know.

Letting people market to the forum without moderating that relationship is part of what makes forums turn to shit. I greatly appreciate the work budman does to keep the forum clear of people using it as blatent marketing. ImO, this is no different than a towing company advertising in a roadside angel thread - a company trying to exploit the forum's access to the community for fiscal gain without giving anything back.

Show of hands: how many guys around here are tempted to buy a CBX from IVI? Thought so... LOL.

Whether you appreciate or denigrate what they've done or their tactics in publicizing, let's get a little tech-y.

Really the only things to the bike that are original are the power plant, the gas tank, which an astute observer will note was resected for a lower overall profile, and the carbs--which, owing to the fact that they're my work, I can indeed speak to with some authority.

The pipes (and other parts) are titanium, hence no attempt to mask the welds seeing as how difficult that particular metal is to fabricate.

Internally the engine is modded as well. Taking this and the steep rake angle of the engine into account, we made some major modifications to the carbs, details of which would be both tedious and confusing to the lay person.

Suffice it to say that they built the bike not only to their vision but to actually run. Front wheel will come off the ground coming out of third. To whatever extent carburetion factors into the equation, my hat's off to these guys for following recommendations made by me that sounded good in theory but were untested in real life. The mod itself is not of my design I hasten to add, but applying to CBX was a real leap. Happy happy happy all around.

As for sound, all I can say is wow. Not the kind of note that's going to come across in a youtube video, although there is one floating around out there of either Calin or Terry having a short demo ride. (Harrumph) Briggs and Stratton indeed!

Take it or leave it but from a purely engineering standpoint it's a masterwork.

And it has some siblings coming up to follow in its footsteps.

The latest Japanese superbike is a masterwork of engineering as well, and we don't let them advertise for free either.

If he had started a build thread and provided detail, info etc I would be a bit more forgiving, but one or two posts is just advertising that doesn't add much to the community. The Keith Code thread is a good example, I am sure it creates some business for him, but he also adds a lot to the community and isn't here to directly advertise his track days.

And THIS is why people stay away from forums.

Because people don't believe the CBX is an engineering masterwork? Actually the RCXXX 5 and 6 cylinder bikes were the masterworks. The CBX was a fantastic tribute to past glory.
