P Diddy arrested

We're not at the height of the me too movement so it's not as impactful to ones career at this point to pick a side? I haven't even seen much about this in the media compared to the afore mentioned folks who spent a lot more time as headlines.

This kind of crap is why I hate rap. It’s not music, either. Just a no talent guy shouting at a microphone.

Rap is full of people who abuse women. Fuck them all.

I'm not upset at all. I'm just curious why he's asking questions that can't be answered here.

That's why I said if there's a point, then say it and if there's a legitimate discussion, we can do that.

This is an incredibly ignorant opinion.

What music do you like? Are you sure there isn't abuse of women from those artists?

There was a point and you shut it down.it was a legitimate question and why can we not discuss that here? We literally discuss the absolute dumbest shit ever and yet you feel this is not a legitimate discussion?

Okay, let's play this out.

Where did you think that conversation was going to go from his posts? It's a legitimate conversation if he made a point of discussion. If you saw it differently, we'll have to disagree on that.

If I shut it down, it's because there was nothing useful he's saying. I don't take back any of my pushback on what I'm just gonna call... bullshit.

Again, not upset by it. What ST Guy said, yeah that rubbed me the wrong way. Very different.

The category is something like "forming opinions of people based on charges and not convictions", so I just want to throw out a parallel of cops being involved in things with a bad look and how many times we've seen LEO's say things like, "now now, let's wait until all the details come out in court". In that regard, when a person is among that group, it's a bad look when they apply a different set of rules to other people. Sooooo...yes, precisely, why *is* this different?

This is an incredibly ignorant opinion.
Absolutely. Like no one in the rock, country, classical, jazz, pop or any other fucking genre has ever abused women. :rolleyes
What music do you like? Are you sure there isn't abuse of women from those artists?
I'll answer it for him. It doesn't matter what kind of music he likes as there's absolutely no way he can legitimately answer your question.

Why is the Hip Hop community so silent on this?
Why no condemnation by Beyoncé, Snoop Dog, J Lo and the rest? They all knew what he was doing and surely witnessed a lot of it.
The only ones what have said anything are 50 Cent and Eminem.
Remember when the Harvey Weinstein story broke and the flood of stories came out about him?
Why is this different? Why the silence?
Including Jennifer Lopez in the, "Hip Hop Community," suggests some very questionable perspectives to me. Lopez does however have a history with the Suspect.

Lumping the entire "hip hop community" together is misguided. I do think that people that knew of these activities need to speak up, apologize, and/or face consequences. But there's gotta be a shit ton of people in hip hop that had no clue this was occurring. And they shouldn't be expected the say anything. A "f Diddy" on Twitter from an artist way out from left field isn't going to accomplish anything.

It doesn’t matter what kind of music I listen to. If it’s anti women, I won’t listen to it. And rap is full of anti women statements.

I’ve never, ever heard any anti women statements in what I listen to. And when a particular genre is full of shit like that, yes, I will condemn the entire genre.

The only rap song I know the full lyrics to is a P Diddy tune. Eminem is the only other one I can come close to. Beyond that it’s all Klingon to me.

Why are you getting so upset over this kuro? He asked a question, which I think is valid. For example, when Marilyn manson had sexual lawsuits that actually went nowhere, the entire rock industry made statements and backed away from him completely. James Franco was accused and has been blacklisted with multiple people speaking out against him. Kevin spacey anyone?

His question is why when these other people get accused of things do people in their community (industry) speak out and distance themselves. But I'm this case, ain't nobody stepping up to say shit.
I might be off base but I kinda got some dog-whistle vibes from gm's post.

So now instead of "rap is full of people who abuse women" and otherwise putting your clear baseless bias on full display, you've moved the goal posts to "rap is full of anti-woman statements". Hate to break it to you, but the music industry as whole is full of people that abuse women. Just because the lyrics of the songs you like don't out-and-out make the statements you're focused on doesn't mean it isn't happening there too. If you makes you feel better about yourself to disparage one single genre just because you have a bias towards it (pretty obvious that's the case), it doesn't mean what you're listening to doesn't have people doing the same thing.

Lose the misplaced rage.
