I've been a mod since Steve ran this place too. I really don't see much has changed, there's just a different group of members that are vocal, but it's the same old rodeo.

The way I see it, EVEN if Marco said delete my account, if you are really his friends, knowing that he is a hot head with a big heart, you would talk him into giving it some thought, and always leave him the option to come back.

But instead he was just locked out and said good riddance to over a difference of opinion. Friends don't do that to friends. Something is really wrong when you run off the good people with big hearts by being rule following clown shoe robots. Big hearted hot headed good guys are the ones you want to keep around. Instead barf chooses to keep the whinny little post whores. That what makes this place suck lately.

But whatever. Continue making this place the suck and making excuses for it. People see the truth, they know who the dicks are.

This is why so many left barf and why I dont bother to post here anymore. You act like hosting a forum is a big deal. Well its not. Plenty of other places to hang out where the hosts dont act like they are doing you a favor.

BTW- you should change the name of this place. Its no longer bay area riders forum. You should call it Buds place.

You're right. Sending PM's and email back and forth with him for the last month and a half wasn't really long enough. We should really beg him for 6 months to rethink leaving before doing what he asks and suspending his account.

So if he comes back and asks to be reinstated should we urge him not to as well or just do it right away?

I'm just trying to figure this all out with your help.

Wow, all this controversy. If Marco's request was misunderstood why hasn't he contacted Dennis to tell him so and ask that his account be reinstated? He's got his email address, home address and telephone number. He's got internet access. Presumably a phone and access to a post office as well. Kind of weird. Did he lose all of Dennis' contact information?

One guy is complaining that Marco's conversation with Dennis is being discussed at all. Another guy is complaining that Marco's message hasn't been posted for everyone to read. 30,000 people not posting in this thread don't care. Can't please everyone I guess!

Did Thump and others leave because they didn't like the TOS or because they got tired of the childish and boorish behavior that Dennis is trying to mitigate? I know he didn't leave because he couldn't type obscenities at other people - he was always much more articulate than "lulz" or "cool story bro." I know that in the early days people suffered less from the dangerous affliction of verbal diarrhea and it was rare that moderators had to step in to intervene.

Now you've got all these internet tough-guys polluting threads with their e-peen battles who've never been to a meet, never hung out with any BARFers in real life, haven't done anything of value for the motorcycling community and yet come here to talk incessantly about how they're awesome and BARF and everyone on BARF sucks. Interesting...

Make our jobs easier folks. If you act like a moron online just go ahead and do the opposite of whatever your instinct tells you is right. Then we can delete the TOS, strip down naked and all have a big group hug (no girls allowed, of course). I'll bring a tape measure and we can use the opportunity to measure everyone's cocks. Then we can put all our dick sizes at the bottom of every post so it's easy to tell who's the man and who's not.

While I like the people running barf personally, I fucking hate the rules this place is being run by currently. I understand why its being done, Budman wants to clean up motorcyclists image, and make barf a more family friendly atmosphere.

Personally, I think its better not to run off these people. There is a lot to learn from the "bad examples", not only are they educational but entertaining as well.

If barf is really here to help riders, it wouldn't be running off riders like the ones who say fuck old guys and fuck the police, fuck the mods. I'll ride hwy 9 anyway I like. Its funny, entertaining and educational for the new riders to see these guys get busted by the police or wad their bikes up shortly after acting like idiots. Its also fun watching them grow up and learn from their mistakes, eat humble pie on the boards where they once acted like fools. But unfortunately, lately barf runs these troublemakers off, so there wont be as many learning/entertaining opportunities for the bad boys, or the rest.

Most of my riding friends dislike rules, as motorcyclists we love freedom. I hate the bs rules that get people banned as well. Whats funny is the problem isn't the words, people can say fuck all they want. The problem is some here have such thin skin that they cry when someone they don't like says it to them. Fucking crybabies, ruining everyone's fun by getting these stupid rules enacted.

We are motorcyclists, grow a thicker skin for gods sake. Man up you fucking sissy's. Stand up and ask for these stupid bannings over insults to stop.

The board loses when these people leave.

Just in the last month, Com3, VRTZA, Bad Dad and many others. Do you really want to perma ban and run these people off barf? Because if thats what barf has become, many more will turn off the barf channel as well.

These days I see a lot of old time barfers/friends sharing entertaining stuff on facebook, but no longer on barf. Thats a damn shame, and barf loses out when that happens.

As a Mod, and a long time one at that, I agree with Frank. Of course the problem has been that posters seem to have gotten more vitriolic of late and that's made management problematic.

Still, we constantly talk about having "relaxed" Kitchen sink standards which seem to get tightened up quickly on the slippery slope argument. I think that's a mistake on the moderation front. If you want to tell someone to "get fucked" in the sink, I say: so be it. It allows me to understand whom I'd help in the moto world and whom I'd let struggle with whatever the situation is.

Good post Frank. I miss the old days too man, when we used to banter back and forth...that's what made me respect you man. Now, there's not time for a good old fashioned dust up where two guys become friends after. I think that's sapped much of the friendship, ironic as that seems.

I agree 100%. I've been a long time proponent of not moderating the KS outside of spam. I've seen people complaining lately that we need an "Adult" section on BARF, we've already got one; the KS!
