The San Francisco Chihuahua Meetup, which I have been a part of now for about four months, each quarter does a food drive. From this food drive dog and cat food is donated to needy groups who can then distribute or use this food where it is needed most. I have recently been appointed the Food fund raiser coordinator with my girlfriend. This quarter our fund raiser is on November 4th, at our monthly Chihuahua Meetup. We have decided to donate the food this go around to PawFund.

PAW FUND (Pets & Wellness Fund) exists for a simple reason: even though the Bay Area has progressive animal shelters, animal rescue and welfare groups on every corner, and a compassionate and caring populace; even though there are some spay and neuter programs and low cost vaccine clinics, there are just not enough easily accessible services and veterinarians are seeing an increase in preventable diseases and shelters are overflowing with unwanted and abandoned animals. There is hardly any support for people with low or fixed incomes or homeless people, seniors, the disabled and Veterans, or just regular folks who have hit a temporary financial roadblock and who have animals who need veterinary care.

It seems obvious: low cost and free, easily accessible spay or neuter, vaccinations, and emergency medical care should be available on a ‘public health’ model. So, PAW FUND established programs to try and address at least a small part of this need, and we are funded entirely by private individual donors. We receive no government funding.

Working together with veterinarians, animal shelters and the community, PAW FUND helps when and where it can, within a small budget. And every time we help a community member keep their animal healthy, or prevent unwanted litters, or protect it from fatal diseases like parvo virus or leukemia – we keep more animals out of municipal animal shelters or prevent them from being abandoned or euthanised because those are the cheapest options. One of the vets said it best ‘When we do this work, we are treating humans as well as their animals.’

But of course this work needs YOUR support. You can make a tax deductible donation to PAW FUND right here on our DONATE page. That ensures that the SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM can function, that we can continue to offer FREE Pet Vaccine Clinics, that we can provide pet food to those whose budgets are stretched thin, and provide MEDICAL EMERGENCY care to pets under some circumstances.

I would like to ask all BARFing dog and cat lovers to come donate a bag of food you no longer need, drop off a bag of food you just bought, or donate funds to this needy cause. 101% of the food donated goes to PawFund. 101% of the money raised goes to PawFund. $0.00 is kept by the Chihuahua meetup, or me or anyone else. This is a good cause, for a good needy families. Please consider donating to the cause. I will be using my paypal, which currently has a $zero balance so I know everything donated goes to this fund. Please make your donation as a "gift" so no fees are taken out.

The SF Chi meetup meets every month in the Stern Grove in the Sunset neighborhood. Please feel welcome to stop by with your doggies, as this is an off leash dog park. This month our meetup is Sunday November 4th from noon to 2pm. Or to make it simple, please make a paypal donation to the following Paypal link

Any chance you can get this moved to general or KS? It seems like you might get more traffic there.

Donation sent :thumbup

Didn't have the option using your PayPal link to say "Gift" :dunno

Can you change the title to say FOOD not FOOR :)

Edited from my standpoint, but I think a Mod needs to edit so it will show up correctly.

Raised $100 and paypal did take out fees, but I plan to still submit $100 even.
Thanks to you both.

$150.00 sent. We will have another round of fund raising in February. There is another doggie in need sooner that I may just ask for some more monies. Hopefully I won't ruin my favors.
