people who make their cars and motorcycles look like a cop vehicle are just weird...

Dude in my neighborhood has an ex-police crown vic.

Lifted, rolling on 24"+ donks.

Weirdest fuckin thing ever, and this is in the SC mountains. Not sure how he manages the potholes.

I think all ex police vehicles should be crushed.

Selling them is probably the same reasoning behind the cop car cutout.
More decoys to trick people into slowing down. Perhaps they really do put safety over revenue, or maybe its something else.

pretty soon oakland pd will have to use those cut outs with the amount of cops leaving that department...:laughing

I'm probably one of the last guys you'll see writing a speeding ticket on the freeway, if that helps you.

I have very little interest in traffic enforcement.

It's hypocritical to be one of the "i don't write the laws, I enforce them" guys, and then have the audacity to say it's okay for you to speed even if it's against the law because now everybody behind you will be forced to do the speed limit. Yup, some laws are dumb, and the 65mph limit in a lot of areas is one of em. You're not paid to pick and choose which ones you should and shouldn't enforce or abide by...or are you? Might as well let somebody over a .08 bac drive home because he didn't show any signs of impairment outside of his breath test results.

I think you missed the point of my post. I told you I didn't write AND I don't enforce "speeding on the freeway" laws. Enforcing laws that you knowingly violate is unethical in my opinion.

I guess when you need a car built like a tank and you only have a grand to spend a retired cruiser would be a great option. Just get one from Walnut Creek and not San Jose if you want one that was maintained and not beat to hell.

This.
If you've only got a few hundred bucks and have to have a car, you may as well get one that tells everyone they're dealing with a honey badger.

I'd leave the cow catcher in front on; people can park by braille all they want, it's their loss.

Back in the day when I may or may not have been involved in streetracing, I saw a new (at the time) red Mustang GT driven by a guy that didn't look older than 25 in Milpitas. All of a sudden, he flips down the visor, there's red and blues on it, and he pulls over the Fast&Furious wannabe Honda he was behind.

After that, I thought twice about giving a run to just anyone at a stoplight.

What car were you in back then? I may have visited the MILI500 in my day too.

lol at justifying speeding when not responding to anything, oh the irony

The other thing I forgot to mention... We only drive on the freeway to and from county jail, and if we're going to or from, that means our city is down one officer until they return.

If we're just patrolling, there's no sense in driving fast because you miss a ton of stuff if you're going too fast. If I'm just patrolling the surface streets, I'll be driving 10mph UNDER the speed limit to make sure I don't miss any good crooks doing dirt.
