people who ride motorcycles aren't the brightest people?

Everybody that I know that doesn't ride either admires me for riding, but they're afraid to try it or they're too scared to try it. But then again most of the people I know ride motorcycles.

Any idiot can step on the gas and brake pedal. It takes smarts, eye and hand control to stay alive as a rider.

I know I got turned down from a prominent research group in my grad school solely based on the fact that I ride motorcycles. "Oh, he is the guy that rides motorcycles, I dont think he is qualified."

Imagine what they think of people that buy motorcycles yet spend more time hanging out on internet motorcycle forums.

motorcyclist like to pat themselves on the back for something normal people have the common sense not to do.

What is the context though? There are definitely plenty of numbnuts on bikes. And at the same time I know plenty of people that don't ride who appreciate motorcycle and my passion for it.

Wrapping themselves in dead cow skin (if that), riding on some two wheel contraption amongst four wheel tanks. Not too smart....

people who don't ride seem to think so. what do riders think?

Just ride so bright that the cagers have to wear shades...

I would have a hard time proving any sort of intellegence.:nchantr

People grossly over-estimate their intelligence.

Not intelligent? Last I checked, us motorcyclist folk have to take a test to obtain our m1. That is a total of two different tests at the DMV we're all doing. :x

I don't think it's a question of intelligence. Probably more of an issue with some sort of chemical imbalance. :dunno :teeth
