Holidays are right around the corner. What is Santa (yourself I guess :p) gonna get yourself for Xmas? After a 70-200mm methinks about possibly a 24mm or 28mm prime.

On the way:
Sigma 8mm fisheye, this lens kicks ass
Canon 40D
 
i may get a 24-70 2.8 in a few months, probably mid spring if i save enough duckets

or a 70-200 f/4

Ooooohh!! That is one sweet lens. Borrowed one from a friend and fell immediately in love with it.

Mackey, The 70-200 4L is a sweet one too. I would lean towards that if I already have lenses in the lower focal range. :cool

StreetRacr67, nice collection there. 24-70 and 70-200 is perfect. Once I get my 70-200 I will have all focal ranges covered (up to 200mm :p). My collection so far:

Canon 50mm 1.8
Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5
Canon 28-200mm 3.5-5.6 (sitting in storage, no longer used)

Consider buying this one used. you can have 'em cheap, there's tons on the second hand market (everyone wants to move up to the f/2.8 eventually) and its virtually indestructable. The thing is an absolute tank, I think the only way you'd get a bad one is if the previous owner used it to club harbor seals.

Jeff, fpr the price, that 24mm f/1.4 is pretty dumpy. I rented one for an event once and I was pretty disappointed. corners are very soft (On a crop body!) and it flared really badly.
 
ya, i wasn't going to buy new if i could help it.

when i checked, there weren't alot of 24-70's around but i saw a couple 70-200 4's.

Yeah, I heard mix things about this lens. I seen some pictures of this lens with a 5D and Mark 3 and they looked really nice. I'll have to rent one first before I drop that kind of money.

great comp and great guy . i have borrowed a few lenses from these guys and i highly reccomend them ..

I still have their 85mm 1.2L and16-35 2.8L and liking them .thanks max.
