Photos of your bike on location

The Junction

You're making me really miss Mines Road and The Junction. :(

There is nowhere around here where motorcycle riders regularly meet. Guess I'll have to go find another lonely mountain top that I haven't been to yet... :cool

I didn't notice any smoke at all (except out my chambers). Didn't know there was a fire.

Apparently they got it contained a few days ago, I hadn't heard anything in the news so was just wondering.

I've been meaning to head out that way for the longest time but haven't made it out there, the sierra foothills are just so close and so tempting I always head east instead of west lol.

On the way up to Thorn Creek Butte (elevation 7550 feet). Took 304A rather than 304. There were a few ruts...

Almost to the top of Thorn Creek Butte. The last place to take a photo of the bike with a good background.

Had to hike the last little bit to the top because one last snow drift across the road hasn't melted yet. The guy standing at the railing of the fire lookout station spends all summer there watching for wild fires. He gets to come down every two weeks or so for supplies. His dog on the right side was quite friendly. In another three weeks or so you'll be able to ride right to where I'm standing.

Grimes Creek to the west of Thorn Creek Butte and down in the valley between mountain ranges.

Pine Creek Road climbing west up over Boise Ridge headed back toward home. Those mountains in the background are where I was earlier in the day.

Saw this helicopter and decided to turn around and take a couple pictures. Unfortunately I lost traction in the gravel when I went to leave this spot. That combined with the weird slope/angle I had to turn to leave I dropped the bike. Scraped slider/mirror/hand guard and broke the shifter peg but other than that no real damage. Sucks but could've been worse. Slider definitely did it's job well.

I've dropped 3 different bikes as, or right after, I stopped for photos. Balancing the bikes during those stops and the maneuvers to get the bikes in position on uneven hillsides are often tricky.

Hey TWT I am in awe of your adventure riding prowess. You really get off the beaten path. My father was born in Covelo in 1914, but I've never been to that area much. Wish I was 30 years younger. But maybe one day I'll take inspiration from you and go there.

Thanks Bill! That is very sweet of you to say. NorCal has so much good stuff still to explore. :)

I wish you would post more in this thread, Cootz.
You really do ride all over the state.

I had too much to drink so I left the bike at the bar. They were kind enough to bring it inside. :laughing
