The state of WA is rebuilding old culverts under roads to enhance salmon runs.
This one is at Head Of The Bay in Eagle Harbor with an ancient grandfathered in gas station right on the waterfront next door.

A recent controversy on the island is that someone put a couple plastic flamingos in a roundabout between the highschool and public library.
Someone else got butthurt about possible eye-catching attention deficiency and "Think of the Chilluns!!!!", and had the city remove them.
Now others have gotten into the act and are planting flamingos all over as FU to the stick up the asses.
Someone put one on this public work this weekend that's definitely not in a vehicle traffic area.
Probably gone now that workers have to be on site to get things done.

OOOPS... Hopefully no mushed hands, elbows or knees! Lots of sand out there and even more deep sand if you drop down out of the trees heading north down on the east side of Mono Lake and up to 167.
Where's your next "planned" stop?
 
Looking at the assorted tracks, it’s safe to say that that is a legitimate sand trap. It’s just like getting a warm hug from the earth.

A full stock muffler has enought stuff inside that a spark can't get out. Especially so on the newer bikes with a catalytic converter. My 2020 KTM 790 Adv R is an example of that.

A spark arrestor is added to straight through mufflers that work much the same way as glass pack mufflers do for cars. The FMF Powercore 4 on my XR650L is a straight through design, but a screen spark arrestor is added to the end to protect the forest.
 
Spark arrestors seem to be dropping off, off road bikes.
70's it got to be a thing, arrestors every where.
I only have two so equipped, my TW, and a new Honda genny.
They ARE still required, in forests, No ?
 
What is seat height? The older I get the shorter I get, 5'5" now. Used to be 5'7".
