pics of my cpu case for the fellow nerds

a friend of mine runs an internet cafe and if enough people are interested... i can let him know and he'll do it for a small fee (rent of space).

yah these uber-gamer geeks all took the cues from alienware and put all sorts of glitz in their cases.

you need cooling? take the moby OUT of the case, hang it on a picture frame on the wall right where your AC duct is located. bolt components to conveniently located shelf next to it. :thumbup

personally, i just use the standard beige cases -- well, the mac is graphite and has lucite handles at all four corners on the outside, but it's still tucked out of sight where no one looks at it anyway.

I WILL admit to having cool lights on the peripherals - blue neon on the Powermate knob (oo! machined aluminum!) and red on the optical mouse... green on the hub... now I just need little purple or orange LED's under all the letters so they glow and fade as you type... :)

Phuck, busted again... I've actually done that, granted at the time I was actually "Hacking" ie: meaning working with hardware mods for stuff at the time, but yeah... I'll find a pic of it....

Sorry im so late, for some reason i wasn't getting the emails saying someone had responded.

Anyhoo, i bought that case for 30 bucks at central computer in santa clara. It was a cheapy, but with a little help it works fine and cools just fine.

I am down for a lan party, never been but I would love to go.

Um, if there were any other quesitons i forgot, so peace :)

Back when I was into running a dialup BBS on my computer and phone line (DragonCitadel, yah!) one of the other 'Cit geeks ran his board for six months like this, cos the fan in his tower went out, and he was too cheap to get a new one. He figured he was paying for the AC either way, might as well let the computer use some of it...

someone else had an old castoff UNIX minicomp in a closet, running off of 220VAC; to keep it happy he drilled a hole in the wall of the house, installed a "muffin" fan on a 2-way light switch (reversed the leads somehow) so that it could push hot air out in summer or pull cold air in in winter...

We all did a bit of hardware hacking... I was more into the whole batch file scripting -- when I discovered my old Tandy 8086 would get mondo cranky and lock up after running for 8 hours straight, I programmed it to do a reboot every six... involved a batch file that rebooted the computer by feeding itself to Debug... can't remember where I found it, but when your only other option was a Big Red Reset Button... you used what you could find.

well, it's not a clan but we do play every monday night at enzonecafe.com. game of choice right now is enemy territory.
