Pinnacles and King City, Sunday, 03/30/25

What's the route from the clubhouse to Hollister? Blast down 101?

I like riding in that area, could I catch the group on 101 in Gilroy? Freeway is the least fun and it kills my Range. There's a Chevron station with chargers in Gilroy at Camino Arroyo Rd. (Right before 152). I could join the group when you pass through and then I would be good for the rest of the day. There's a charger 2 blocks from the Cork and Plough so I can top up at lunch and be ready for whatever the second half of the day has going on.

Walnut creek area.. i'm more concerned if the roads are clean or gravely.. been riding the last month or two a lot of back roads, and all had gravel and potholes, not fun when wheels are skipping like if I was on a dirt..

I just rode Peachtree and Hwy 25 yesterday and the roads seemed pretty good to me, lack-of-winter-gravel-wise--but I'm famously lenient about California road conditions, so take it with a grain of salt. :laughing

there will be all types of bikes on the ride, probably. :ride

be super-cool to see you on your e-bike! :thumbup

Our Mr Road Captain Vince says from San Francisco that we'll head down 280 to 101 and gas up at the Chevron in Hollister at 1390 Prospect Ave. They will then stop at Tres Pinos for a quick coffee break.

Hope to see you soon, one way or another. :angel

Sunday has forecast of rain pretty much all over.. not sure if it will change by mid or second half of the week, but at this point looks gloomy, additionally after all the comments i’m considering bringing the GS instead of sport bike.. decisions, decisions

yea, not to rain on this parade, but i’m out as well, otherwise i would love to do this loop on a sunny day! Let’s do it again..

Ramblers are doing their fun ride thing then too. That's kinda in the neighborhood. Coalinga and Los Gatos Road is a blast too. (There's good Mexican food in Coalinga too.) Then you can loop back on 198 or even do Parkfield Grade.

no, the real motorcycle people showed up … hear they mostly avoided any rain:

and a Mr @kalle pic of the famous Lewis Creek Detroit Riprap …

a 4/11-12 ride down that way may catch the spring wildflowers. :thumbup
