I can't agree with this more. A cop tells you to raise your hands, and you decide to ignore him and reach for a mobile? That's just dumb. I don't blame the cops....they will feel like shit, but they did the best with what they had.
 
Just another way that cell phones are doing Darwin's work! The gang banger that thought, in the moment that they were being pulled over by cops with their guns out, "This call might be important..." - NEEDS to be taken out of the gene pool.

Whatever happened to saying "Hold on officer, I REALLY need to take this call" ????:rofl

It pays not to give the cop any reason to be nervous. Turn off the motor, turn on the dome light, and keep hands on the wheel. It could save you a lot of money. Four of the last five times I've been pulled over, thats over a 20 yr period, I got let off with a warning. :party

I want tazer abuse stopped cold- and I think every act of it undermines the ability of conscientious officers to use this defensive weapon in the future. I think cops should have non lethal means to protect themselves- not to force compliance through repeated bouts of electrocution

like I said -even on a broad daylight traffic stop I articulated clearly that I needed to dismount the bike to comply with the request for documents. I moved slowly. I shut off the bike. I made sure nothing I was doing looked like a threat.
you'd have to live Mars (or even then, I think you'd get the idea) not to understand that when a cop pulls up on you and orders you to stop, to get your hands up, you need get them up or at least cease moving and be as non threatening as possible.

I feel badly for the cops in this instance. he didn't leave them much of a choice.
